Unlike Mr. Manafort I am not a lawyer. But even I know that it is a monstrously bad idea to contact a witness against me and try to influence him/her. And the idea gets even worse when I am not successful in this attempt… Surely Mr. Manafort, JD (Georgetown 1974), must have had some inkling that this was not smiled upon by the law.
