Discussion: Trump Announces Retired General H.R. McMaster As New NatSec Adviser

McMaster? That doesn’t sound Russian. He must be under deep cover…

Maybe it’s just me but the optics of three old guys manspreading on that shiny gold couch… not confidence inspring…

‘I read and studied really hard over the weekend’??? Good God, Trump is lame. Did McMaster get to pick HIS own staff or is he going to be forced to use the Trump/Bannon staff already there?

Could have been H. R. Giger instead of H. R. McMaster.

Now THAT would have been something!

Lots of people seem to be making “command appearances” at Trump’s Florida gilt palace.

Given that Trump flies down there from Washington, and that most of the people he makes fly down for job interviews and such are also Washington based, I have to ask:

What is it costing us taxpayers to fly everyone, put them up in hotels as necessary, and so on, when Trump could just as well meet with them in Washington, and we taxpayers wouldn’t get a bigger bill than reimbursing everyone for cab fare?

McMaster is considered to be an intellectual. I’m surprised Trump chose him.

Guess he doesn’t mind the taste of shit sandwiches.

well, ummm, at least it’s not Bolton?

Also, it looks like Trump is adopting the Congressional work week. Fly “home” on Friday, spend the weekend, come back to D.C. on Monday or Tuesday. Repeat. Yeah, that’s time and cost efficient.

What’s with all the generals? Its beginning to look like a military junta. Seems the only civilians in this regime are Wall Street billionaires.

H.R. McMaster is one of the smartest generals in the Army. My hope is that he will have the guts to always tell Trumpf the truth, even if it costs him his job. I have a feeling he will, and we’ll be doing this again in three months.

I am so impressed that Dinky Don read and read and watched and watched a lot this weekend! We now have a very special, very tremendously special and tremendous new National Security Adviser. Very tremendously impressed I am.

I dunno but AT LEAST he isn’t going to Hawaii for two weeks a year! (/sarc)

At first glance, this guy looks like he might cause some problems for Tinyfingers and President Bannon.

It is almost certainly Bannon of course! They just went down the list until they could find someone who was willing to accept the Intolerable, unworkable conditions!

Yes then there’s that.
You have to wonder what manner of Faustian bargain was struck.
Who would voluntarily descend into that pit of insanity .
He looks like a guy who could have taken a nice quiet retirement fishing off the end of his pier.
Maybe he loves his country enough to get in the middle of it and try to stop the madness.
All speculation until we hear from him

It’s okay because Trump gets the money from their stay at Mar-s-Lago during their visit. It’s win for Trump and, since it makes America great again, it’s great for the American people. See how that works? Bigly.

It would’ve made those one-page Presidential Daily briefs with the bullet points, maps and pictures a lot more interesting to be sure.

The simple explanation is they have dirt on him. Putin’s Proxies know his weaknesses and will use them to bend his arms, when the time comes.
