I doubt Trumpers understand (or care about) the difference between real life and acting – after all, their leader has made a career out of blurring that line.
The stupid. It burns.
Jeepers. The Trump campaign really thinks they’re gonna gaslight their way into the Presidency of the United States of America.
And it’s alarming to think about how closely they’ve come to succeeding.
There is exactly one requirement to be a Trump surrogate: the ability to tell absolutely outrageous lies with a straight face. They’re a motley crew, certainly, but that characteristic is found in every one.
I watched the ad and I didn’t think any of the girls were portrayed as having any sort of eating disorder. They were all shapes and sizes, and generally just looking in the mirror as Trump said hateful things about women. Betsy was just flailing. Because the ad is devastating to Trump.
In the theater, this is known as flop sweat.
I don’t believe I’ve heard such a convoluted argument since Emperor Hirohito tried to explain to the Japanese people why they lost WW II.

The Drumpf spokespeople and surrogates have succeeded in giving the term “tortured logic” an entirely new and even more derogatory meaning. That is to say, that logic appears to have completely disappeared from their campaign.
