You are likely correct, although a hand tossed house salad doesn’t have the appearance of something that comes off the back of a truck in sealed 5 pound plastic bags. I know that damned restaurant had shredded lettuce in the kitchen that didn’t come premixed with cilantro sprinkled into it throughout.
The entire GOP platform will be conspiracy theories with Trump at the helm.
Let’s see now. According to The Donald, Hillary was an Al-Qaeda commander in Libya who ordered the death of our ambassador, a lesbian that forced Bill to wander, a Senator that led Bush’s fight to invade Iraq, killed her heterosexual lover…and gave him and Melania lousy wedding presents.
That would make her a strong pro military candidate that is open to diversity and snubbing her nose at Top `% billionaires. Seems like the perfect candidate to entice both conservative and progressive voters. No wonder the Silent Majority finds her attractive as a candidate while worrying themselves sick about Trump.
There will be no more invitations to Donald’s next wedding?
Yeah, I’m still trying to figure that part out, though. It requires a pretty sophisticated long game on his part, and I just don’t see evidence of that sort of intelligence. He’s got instincts, but I don’t see any strategy.
But say it were strategy. It seems pretty high risk, low reward. At the very least, it reinforces the theme that he’s a pathological liar who has no regard for the truth. But it also a pretty fragile strategy. A dozen quick follow-up questions would destroy him. “So you’re saying the former president murdered somebody?” “Do you believe that?” “Why are you bringing it up if you don’t believe it?” “What else do you say that you don’t believe?” “Do you believe anything you say?” etc. etc.
We focus on the grand narrative, but often campaigns turn on the little moments. The 47% comment, “proceed, governor…”, “what newspapers do you read?”, etc. Because they’re the moments that reveal that the emperor is wearing no clothes and suddenly millions of people who suspected something – that Romney really despises the commoners, that Palin doesn’t have a clue about the world – find out it’s absolutely true.
Millions of people already wonder if Trump really believes anything he says. One reporter revealing that Trump doesn’t believe a word that comes out of his own mouth would be devastating.
I don’t get the soap flavor out if it. To me it tastes like the opposite of soap. To me, it tastes the way I imagine a week’s worth of stale body odor, accumulated over seven long days of manual labor in the hot sun without a shower, concentrated down into a little flecks of green bits, would taste.
Yeah, it’s that disgusting to me. So of course it’s ubiquitous.
My 83 year-old mother and her dwindling group of friends ‘go out’ to inexpensive chain restaurants several times a week and so I regularly hear food horror stories. In fact, I’ve often suspected my mother enjoys bitching about the inferior food as much as getting out of the house. But, after telling her my own restaurant horror stories, I’ve convinced her to just get a salad. Even then, she often reports inedible, wilted salads frequently served with large chunks of inedible lettuce core…Applebee’s, T.G.I. Friday’s, Bob Evans, Ruby Tuesday are some that spring to mind. In a minor defense, all businesses (including ours) around here are suffering from an inability to hire good hourly wage employees largely due to the out of control heroin plague and this also impacts restaurant quality and service.
You are kind of making my point. How many people back in the 30’s discounted early plans to ghetto-ize, relocate, evacuate, or deport Jews as “insane” and figured it would never happen? How many would have discounted rumors of elimination plans as “insane” over the top comments. If you have not read it already, I would suggest the Diary of Anne Frank. It is an easy read that is a first person account that captured how people discounted as unlikely what they though to be nuts. Add to this the incrementalism of the messaging/propaganda and well you know the rest.
We need to respond to comments like Trump with an emphatic “He is wrong and being intentionally deceptive”, rather than “He is insane!”
Ye, it’s a scourge here also. A controlled heroin plague would be preferable, but normalizing the gaunt, strung out look would damage society’s efforts at having everyone resemble a Cheeto-stained beached whale.
Proclamations like that are predominately spread via the media. Paid advertising can also do it, but I think many tune out that method as propaganda. The public will incorporate commercial news media messaging. Were Wolf Blitzer to say Trump is wrong and deceptive he’d immediately bring on a panel of contrarians to proclaim the opposite. All news is presented as a binary issue. There are never three or four aspects to anything political. Or one. It’s always two. Trump is (fill in the adjective) followed by Trump is not (fill in the same adjective). We report, you decide.
Trump’s Corey Lewandowski, this morning, successfully showed the CBS morning news people how completely the Trump demon has overtaken his body and soul with his breakneck verbatim repetition of Trump’s standard non answers often delivered over the unsatisfied questioning voices of the anchors…
Trump know how to read an audience and say what they desire to hear. (How many millions loved hearing him say “You fired!”) His comments get the media and the listener to spend far more time thinking about his opposition than him. How much of this article rehashes Bill/Hilary Clinton allegations, how much damns Trump?
Take the article below. How many “controversies does it dredge up?” How many false/misleading Trump statement does it restate. Just on word count along it is about 970 on Clinton allegations and 370 on Trumps tactics.
Fine. Counter with the fact immediately. “Law enforcement agencies ruled out any foul play. Vince Foster had suffered depression. Depression is a mental health condition that often involves in suicide thoughts.”
Says the mess maker.
What’s fishy is Trump’s ties to the mob.
Laughing stock? He is the GOP nominee. He has gotten more votes than Romney or McCain, and likely will pass GWB’s primary vote count. He eviscerated politically the other GOP candidates. He is even with Clinton in national polling. Who is laughing? Maybe he is.

Yeah, but everybody knows that law enforcement agencies were paid off by Bill and Hillary to arrive at those findings. As to depression, what do doctors know anyway? My grandmother was depressed, drank like a fish, and smoked two packs of Camel filterless every day and lived to be 97. They didn’t find her dead in a park with a bullet in her head.
I think this is how it’s played:
“I’ve heard a number of people say that Donald Trump raped three women while he was married to Ivana and that one of those women got pregnant and that he pushed her down the stairs because she wouldn’t get an abortion. I’m… I get calls from people all the time saying these things. You, you wouldn’t believe it - it’s tremendous the things people are telling me about Donald Trump and his violent, criminal past. Now, I wouldn’t say that Mr. Trump is a violent, baby-killing criminal because I don’t know these things but when you hear the same thing from many, many… these people are reputable - some of the most respected people in the country, in the legal profession, the best people. Well at some point you think ‘gee, maybe there’s really something to this and someone should look into it’ but that wouldn’t be me because I really don’t know too much about it except for these amazing things that people keep telling me.”
Does that sound about right?
Everyone except the Reagan/Bush/Palin crowd knows this.
There are reports out of Las Vegas of a disoriented Rich Little wandering the streets and casinos asking people why he was removed as the host of the Tonight Show. Sounding like Johnny Carson and mimicking his mannerisms only adds to people’s confusion, shock and pity at the sight of him.
You should be more careful successfully assuming the persona of others. The holding cell in Caesar Palace’s security office is a spartan dystopia.
Trump has left a trail of bodies and bad business deals that is miles long. He consistently screws people over and claims bankruptcy in order to get out of paying people. THIS is why he won’t release his taxes.
Trump is nothing but a crook. And he DARES bring up Vince Foster? Wow.
True, but he’s a much beloved crook.
This is not only about Trump and his fishy fish. It’s about Trump and HIS enablers- like his buttboy Sean Hannity- who talks almost like a pedophile? Wow! Is Sean Hannity a pedophile? Not saying that, but do we really know? He certainly talks almost like a pedophile.
Sean Hannity grew up catholic school and has spent time serious face time with priests. So there’s that. And if his wife were confronted with this accusation she probably deny it. Would she be lying? Fishy cover up here. People have questions and want answers.
Certainly the train of death and destruction that flow from his politics is enormous compared to a single priestly predator. Does a single pedophile sound more horrible and cruel than a factotum of war criminals dripping with the blood of tens of thousands of dead Iraqis? No!
And when some say, "What about Sean’s same sex attraction? I say “Newt”. More specifically Hannity’s world obvious facial-anal relationship with Newt: Once the eager young catholic Georgia talk show host taken in by the older wiser powerful Newt. We know about power as aphrodisiac and about Newt’s fondness for Capital Hill parking lot oral sex. There’s a lot there to work with here people. And twenty years on the attraction seems just as strong. However, now Newt is on the bottom and Hannity is totally on top. And their mutual love antics are as hot as ever. What a mess. And can Hannity or anyone ever be cured of talking almost like a pedophile? Some say “never”. People have some many questions. We all should just Google “Does Sean Hannity talk almost like a pedophile” to start finding out: “Does Sean Hannity talk almost like a pedophile”. Always question. So many questions.
