Discussion: Trump Airs Conspiracy Theory About Ex-Bill Clinton Staffer’s Death: ‘Very Fishy’

“I don’t bring [Foster’s death] up because I don’t know enough to really discuss it,” Trump said. “I will say there are people who continue to bring it up because they think it was absolutely a murder. I don’t do that because I don’t think it’s fair.”

Trump is insane. No one will say it, but even a cursory listening to his speeches and analysis of thought processes would keep a team of psychiatrists busy for weeks.

I didn’t know how I was gonna say it…but you were short and concise. Trump IS insane.

Preaching only to the haters and converted.

Moderates and independents won’t be affected.

They were in the 90s.

It’s the one thing with her, whether it’s Whitewater or whether it’s Vince or whether it’s Benghazi. It’s always a mess with Hillary.”

Trump: Why couldn’t she simply declare Chapter 11 and start over?

No more so than anything else. Have you been paying attention?

Peak Trump. Outstanding.

The more he brings up this lunacy with respect to the Clintons, the easier it will be to paint him as an object of ridicule in general.

Yeah, donny gots to avoid anyone involved in fishy situations involving staffers. That’s why he’ll only call into Morning Joe from now on.

He really should use a surrogate for this. I agree that it makes him appear insane.

The Vince Foster thing was batspit insane in the 90s, and that the media is going to let Trump get away with this is even more batspit insane.

And, yes, I have been paying attention.

This is desirable attribute among his supporters, mainly because they themselves lack common sense and most suffer from cognitive dissonance. Being loud and thoughtless are seen as strength.

There are some very smart people out there saying that Rump went bankrupt 4 times on purpose, just to stiff people out of their money and keep it for himself. I don’t really know enough about this to bring it up, but Rump himself is out there bragging about his smart business decisions. I don’t talk about it because I don’t really think it’s fair, but a lot of people are saying there’s something very fishy there.

Oh please…saying this means little. He’s no more or less crazy than any GOP nominee since Reagan.

The media again… have any other fantasies?

Seriously? The 22nd paragraph of the Post story:

One issue on Trump’s radar is the 1993 death of Foster, which has been ruled a suicide by law enforcement officials and a subsequent federal investigation. But some voices on the far right have long argued that the Clintons may have been involved in a conspiracy that led to Foster’s death.

That’s the only mention that Mr. Trump is airing a tired, old, long-discredited conspiracy theory, and it’s immediately followed with a “but some voices…” Ugh.

Once again Donald “the draft dodging coward” Trump shows his agility at being an asshole.

It was noted a couple of weeks ago that Trump had a luncheon meeting in a restaurant with people who’ve been peddling this crap for years to a credulous audience. This is similar to his mutterings the other day about that stupid photo purporting to be Cruz’s father. He walks it back, as if offended, when it doesn’t work, because he leaves himself an absurd, childish escape hatch with his “I’m not saying, I’m just saying” nonsense. And it’s insane, yes, it crosses a line, it shows he’s absolutely without any scruples or limits, and his judgment is scrambled in a way no normal person’s is. I doubt very much he actually believes this shit, but I’m not the psychiatrist he ought to be seeing. If I were I might call this extreme sociopathy.

This is the Post, by the way. They’re in the tank for Trump. Let’s see how the other outlets react before we condemn the media monolithically. I doubt many of them want to be used this way. But we’ll see.

ETA: I misread—this is in the fucking Washington Post? Jesus Christ Almighty. I thought it was the damn NY Post. Unbelievable.

It’s very old, very tired, and will convince absolutely no one that didn’t already believe it. That’s the problem with the quarter century of attacks by the GOPers on Clinton…they’ve effectively inoculated her against all the old nutty stories.
