The humanitarian crises are in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. It seems to me that supporting democratic reforms and providing assistance to those countries would do more to stem the migration than a wall. So a wall simply moves the humanitarian crisis to Mexico -the other side of the wall. What a ridiculous made for TV administration.

Last night after reporting on the shutdown and Trump’s tantrum in the meeting and his claims of crisis and emergency, the 10:00 news on channel 8 cut to a reporter they had sent down to McAllen. She was standing at the crossing. It was dead. They asked: How are things down there at the border? She gestured to the crossing and said: Quiet. As usual.

Jim Acosta just posted an interview with a McAllen resident and guess what she doesn’t see the crime, drugs, murders or people streaming across the border. In fact she indicated that McAllen is a very safe place to live and the crime is committed by locals.
