Discussion: Trump Again Suggests He Should 'Take Away Credentials' For Negative Coverage

Take away the credentials of reporters covering WH press releases, and other propagandistic fluff, so they can focus their efforts on actual investigative reporting instead?

DO IT!!!

Finally, the reviews on scrubbing the Iran deal are in from Moscow. Putin scores big! Teamwork.

The reason most news about Trump is negative is because he is a lying racist, ignorant, corrupt, and possibly traitorous piece of excrement.

I think you can scratch possibly.

Nope it won’t be empty, the Trump press fan club will be in attendance and their questions to SHS will be a hoot and a half. SHS’s answers will be even better.

Also if Trump does this (he won’t it’s just his blathering) then the leaking he complains about will become a tsunami.

I think the I need to take away the IRS credentials for always bothering me about money they think I owe them.
Is this how it works? lol

Harry Truman says: If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

He’d torch the Bill of Rights in a second if he could. All while hugging the flag and his minions chanting MAGA.

The man is simply toxic.

There is one unfortunate difference between the Nixon resignation and the DT situation. Nixon realized he had to resign when the GOP Congressional leadership told him he would not survive an impeachment trial. Even if today’s press does its job with the Cohen/Essential Consultants foreign money, bribery and influence scandal I cannot imagine the GOP Congressional “leadership” doing anything other than assuring DT that there was no need to worry because they “had his back.”

OMG we living through a Watergate revival? That story did not end well for the lead, and now they’re pushing a stupider, fatter, actor to play Nixon.

I may be missing something, but I still can’t understand why credible journalists bother to show up for the daily lies and abuse.

Mommy didn’t hug the orange man enough when I was littler. All because Obama made fun of him a few years ago at what, “The Correspondence Dinner”, Trump goes stupid nuclear, on the press, Obama success, and sanity. Because he’s so small, fragile, and most important, he distains accurate reporting and has Obama envy, manically insecure Dumb Donny stupidly pulls us out of Iran deal, why because he hates facts and must erase all signs and successes of his superior, Obama.

So is reporting that Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen received $500,000 from a Russian oligarch positive or negative news?

Of course we’re all aware the GOP has countenanced appalling things from Trump and his administration. But the GOP in Nixon’s time knew what he was, too, and they fought harder than the mythology would suggest to preserve his presidency. They didn’t patriotically rush to condemn him the morning the burglary was made public. However, things weren’t as bad then, of course, that’s a given. But Trump’s crimes are far greater in number and far more grave, and he was a huge political liability the day he took office. The storm winds are already beginning to blow. The Republicans are a degenerate cult of rabid partisans, we know that. But the situation is very volatile and it’s not at all certain Trump serves a full term.

No argument on that point. My concern is that even though

the GOP has not only failed to stand up to his atrocities they have fallen in line to adopt his propaganda and sing his praises. I think the only hope is that the storm winds completely decimate the GOP in the midterms and they see ejecting DT as their only means of survival. Even then, I can easily imagine a split between the loyalists and pragmatists that would carry him through an impeachment.

I agree with your conclusion that it’s not at all certain Trump serves a full term but it is equally not at all certain Trump does not serve a full term. It will be an interesting era for future PoliSci classes to study, not so interesting to be living it in real time.

But the Democrats back then, had a large majority in the House and Senate. Regardless of what the Mueller investigation finds (tax evasion, money laundering etc) the Republicans will never act against Trump.

And we fix that by taking the majority back.

That’s correct. This November’s vote will be the most important of our lives with regard to the existence of the United States.
I also expect the Russians to be at full power interfering with it. They’re getting smarter and smarter while Congressional Republicans look the other way.
