Discussion: Trump Again Suggests He Should 'Take Away Credentials' For Negative Coverage

Only 91%? That’s normal. Check this link out.

Why do we see that more than 90% news is negative? Is there nothing to report that is positive in the world? Or is it that negative sells more than positive?

Burning down the Grand Old Politburo for a generation, would be the greatest inadvertent public service of all time.

And I would have succeeded if it wasn’t for those meddling amendments to the Constitution.

Trumpless Tuesdays

President Trump has expressed his frustration with what he calls “Fake News.” In an effort to reduce his daily stress, we are initiating Trumpless Tuesdays.

No articles about Donald Trump will be printed on the front page of the physical newspaper, just a single box referring readers to an interior page. No headlines containing “Trump”, “the President” or “the Trump Administration,” including editorials and opinion pieces. WH or White House listed only if necessary.

No articles about Donald Trump on the initial page of the newspaper or news network websites, just a single link to all Trump articles, with the other guidelines as above.

That’s a fairly modest proposal, right?

I think he mis-spelled “truthful” as “fake.”

Common mistake (for him).

You’re presuming that Trump totally groks the idea of news that does not issue forth directly from him and his administration.

Other people can be talking about Trump, but not from Trump? There exists an outside world that he cannot direct or influence? This is beyond him.

Do it, Donnie; you think the coverage is negative now? Let’s get that percentage to 100%!

  • Promoting extreme nationalism and isolationism from the global community.
  • Government-sanctioned bigotry.
  • Purging of “disloyal” federal employees.
  • Calling for all citizens to be 100% loyal to HIM.
  • Pushing evidence-devoid conspiracy theories.
  • Attempting to harm cities that oppose his political agenda.
  • Shunning and blocking access by the mass media.
  • Publicly deriding critics with daily public petulant outbursts of petty insults.
  • Calls for massive military expansion (and renewal of a nuclear arms race).
  • Denying health care to those in greatest need.
  • Creating obtrusive physical barriers along national borders.
  • Renewing calls for torturing suspected “enemies of the state”.
  • Antagonizing and deriding leaders of foreign nations.
  • Calls for invading foreign lands for the purpose of assuming control of their natural resources.
  • Deliberately undermining the entire election process.
Yep, Donnie certainly seems to be following the key steps to success in “Forming a Fascist Dictatorship for Dummies”.

On the contrary, I think the news media should stop attending Sanders’ “press briefings”. There hasn’t been a whisper of news out of them in months. All Sanders says is that she doesn’t know or “the President says x”. Why go through this charade?

In general sure, that principle undoubtedly helps create the landscapes in what we’ll laughing call Trump’s mind. But I do think he’s aware of news stories about millions of dollars in Russian and domestic bribe money flowing into Cohen’s little slush fund there. He doesn’t care about other people but he cares about his own fat ass and whether it’s suddenly likelier to go to jail.

I for one would be grateful for a day or a week of news not focused on Trump. Not being in the news would be his worst nightmare. There are so much more going on in the world that need attention.

Trump lies. He’s not going to do that, because it’s a conspiracy.

Probably waterboard them. Republicans are okay with government torture now.

Blocking media coverage will only make things worse for Trump. The media will still report the Truth where they find it, and would leave Trump in his own little bubble of FOX News and Far Right Media which is growing smaller each day Trump is President.

Maybe I am wrong, I don’t think I am, but most administrations are confronted with a predominance of negative news. Bad news sells.

The difference with Trump is his agenda is essentially hurtful to Americans generally. He only listens to a minority of Americans (the Fox News base) the rest of the media considers the rest of America, the vast majority of Americans, their natural audience. Trump actively targets those people as his enemies.

That would be a hoot. Trump would stroke out if the press ignored his shit for a news cycle.

If calling horrible policy what it is and pointing out the bat shit crazy tendencies of the loon in office is deemed negative, then , yes…the coverage is necessarily negative.
