ISIS: We support Trump’s position. We want mosques in US to fully engage with Amerikan Politics.

I am all for it as soon as he rescinds their tax exempt status.

Here, here! Let’s put everybody on an equal playing field. Then I’m all for it.

Okay, it’s on! Time to form the Church of Atheists and Agnostics and get the same tax-exempt benefits. Donate large portions of your take home pay and we’ll return it to you as “charitable support” of your needs. You get the tax deduction and you get the financial support. And we can spend limitless amounts of our tax-exempt money pursuing political advocacy.

I’m serious.

Jefferson and Madison spin in their graves. But it doesn’t matter, because they were not Republicans.

Look for the amendment to be replaced with one that sends taxpayer dollars to churches. Only Christian churches, of course.

Trump continued, “The Johnson amendment rescission will be limited to only allow political speech in Christian churches by ministers who support Republican candidates.”

Great – I’ll just use churches’ political endorsements as a way of identifying the Christofascist neo-KKK groups in my community. No problem.

I’m in. When is our first “service”? My first donation will be about $50,000 and I’ll need that back in the form of a helping hand in my time of need.

President Bannon and his advisor Conway are influential members of the Dominionist theofascist nut group Council for National Policy, and they are intent on establishing a de facto theocracy in the United States.

Bannon will use the coming war against Islam as a domestic cudgel to ram through legislation and judicial appointments designed to destroy the separation of church and state, which the CNP openly hates.

But let’s never forget that Hillary was a corrupt corporatist, amirite?

I know this is a thing with Christian extremists kind of like saying “radical Islamic terrorism” is a thing they believe is somehow meaningful. But is there ever any question on which side of the aisle your pastor/church reside(s)? Do they really think that by saying, “Please vote for Donald Trump”, it’s somehow going to make a difference? These people truly are endlessly stupid.

I think the ultimate strategic goal of eliminating the Johnson Amendment is to chip away at the separation of church and state in the U.S. Allowing churches to openly endorse and campaign for candidates is just one step along with way.

do we get to symbolically sacrifice virgins to the Flying Spaghetti Monster while having a drunken orgy too?

He realizes he is dealing with the tax code. The idea is if a church isn’t going to pay taxes, it should keep its nose out of politics.

Some guy once said:

“Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto G-d the things that are G-d’s.”

Of course, the evangelicals who voted for Trump aren’t familiar with that guy.

Repeal the Johnson Amendment?

Trump’s constant, distracting, attention-seeking is part of president Bannon’s insdious, hyper-manipulative strategy. We’re sick of it.

I’ve heard of him. The homeless guy, born in a stable because no one would rent to his parents…

New announcement: the GOP rebrands as United Church of Mammon, all political contributions now tax-deductible.

On the other hand, if this happened, the gop could reap the whirlwind. There are a lot of mainstream religious organizations that have been very scrupulously observing the current law, as opposed to the nutbar ones, who are already pretty much ignoring it.
