It is inconceivable to me that the Department could accept Muellerās interpretation of Ā§1512Ā©(2). It is untenable as a matter of law and cannot provide a legitimate basis for interrogating the President. I know you will agree that, if a DOJ investigation is going to take down a democratically-elected President, it is imperative to the health of our system and to our national cohesion that any claim of wrongdoing is solidly based on evidence of a real crime - not a debatable one. It is time to travel well-worn paths; not to veer into novel, unsettled or contested areas of the law; and not to indulge the fancies by overly-zealous prosecutors.
Fourth, even if one were to indulge Muellerās obstruction theory, in the particular circumstances here, the Presidentās motive in removing Corney and commenting on Flynn could not have been "corruptāā unless the President and his campaign were actually guilty of illegal collusion. Because the obstruction claim is entirely dependent on first finding collusion) Mueller should not be permitted to interrogate the President about obstruction until has enough evidence to establish collusion.
His ātellā as far as Iām concerned, is that he sent a memo, shitting on Mueller, directly to Trump.
Likely as an audition for the job, knowing that Sessions wouldnāt last much longer.
That ALONE should disqualify him, IMO.

Who cares what he SAYS? Itās what he DOES that matters, and he is a TRUMP TOADYā¦
Iām willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here. People here thought Rod Rosenstein would be another partisan hack when he was appointed. Yet he was responsible for starting and overseeing Muellerās investigation as Special Counsel and protecting it from Trumpās attempts at meddling.
Also, this isnāt a lifetime appointment and he should realize Trumpās days are numbered so heāll end up being accountable for any attempts at stopping the investigation.
But the one thing that needs to be asked is whether he believes it would be ethical for Trump and/or Pence to pardon themselves? Barr was responsible for the Iran/Contra scandal to end by telling Bush Sr. to pardon everyone being investigated. Trump and everyone involved canāt get Get Out of Jail Free cards after everything thatās happened.
I hope Barr is not confirmed.
