I sure hope that you’re right chammy, but nobody believed we’d get to the point we are at. I still can’t believe it.
Kudos to you. There should be a concerted effort in this (I suppose there is somewhere) but there is NEVER a shortage of common sense…and this is a VERY good idea.
Thank you for posting this and for the reminder to GET OUT THE VOTE!!!
“We’ll all be riding the HRC freight train-- and it’ll be gaining momentum heading downgrade.”
“downgrade”? We’ll see.
I am probably more like you than chammy… I am a historian, and I know that people of many eras and national venues have stepped forward to save their nation. Trump’s election is the greatest threat to this country in my lifetime. He would literally alter this system of government, not to mention augment the megalomanic extremism he wallows in. I am certain that a sizable chunk of people are still in the dark about Trump (not everyone pays attention to this kind of thing). If, somehow, people could finally grasp what this man is all about, Trump would lose every state.
Interesting how many right wing sociopaths feel so emboldened these days. Do you think it has something to do with the right wing’s political strategy? Y’know, used to be a dog whistle… now it’s a blaring air raid siren.
Guess it’s what happens when the cat’s away; the rats come out to play…
Naw I think pluckyinky has this totally nailed - this is the angry white reaction to having a black president. They went with Trump because they are pissed off about Obama.
Please do!
Baldasaro’s comment that Hillary Clinton should be “Shot for Treason” is disgraceful. The Trump campaign’s comment on Baldasaro was: We’re incredibly grateful for his support, but we don’t agree with his comments,” spokeswoman Hope Hicks said. That tepid response is also disgraceful. Simply disagreement gives Baldasaro’s comment a level of legitimacy that should not be acceptable to anyone interested in political discourse rather than expressions of hatred.
Lucifer!
How about this?
“We are grateful for his support but we are INCREDIBLY ASHAMED of his comments.”
Different emphases for RWNJ’s
I dunno…I think it goes back to Gingrich.
I can’t disagree. Gingrich definitely is responsible for lowering the tone of our national conversation.
War Hero?
WAR HERO?
What the…I just…make it go awayyyyy!
I agree completely. I still have a lot of hope for the debates though. Trump is so ill-prepared and thin skinned, that it should be easy to make him come unglued before a national audience.
wait awhile, but thanks to Tiffany Trump, some plucky Republican will actually say something along those lines.
We are all so confident of that. But maybe he won’t snap. Maybe he’ll just bluster confidently and no one will correct him or allow Clinton to respond properly to his bullsht. And I figure that our confidence and low expectations of him are going to be part of what makes the whole debate backfire on us. If he handles Clinton by literally ignoring her, talks his own fantasy game, and manages to get a couple of nasty one-liners in, the press will choose to talk about those “zingers” and not Clinton’s actual performance.
In any case, if he doesn’t get too agitated, I can guarantee they will profess to be stunned and surprised at “how well he did,” even though everything he said was non-responsive, nonsensical, non sequitur or completely untrue.
Maybe they think they can weather a few years of Trump in order to regain control of the Supreme Court. That is such a huge prize in this election for either side. Or, maybe the fix is in. Let Trump win and grab the glory he craves, then turn the job over to Pence.
It’s not really race or gender. It’s that they can’t stand the thought of a Democratic POTUS. Having said that, of course, they will use racism and misogyny to lure people that those things appeal to in order to distract them from the real issues. Just a means to an end to win elections and put their ideology in place.
Remember Palin’s ammo box beating the ballot box line? These people really believe it.
