We have a diversified economy–both oil and gas–but relatively little coal. From what I understand, coal has lost market share to natural gas, so they might not be the most natural alliance. I’m not sure what either side would gain from an alliance with the other.
Oh, that’s OK. You probably parsed it as one who sweeps a new, or relatively young, chimney. I parse things incorrectly like this all the time.
And they’re spinning this as if it’s a problem with Macron…
The League of Evil Villains: Pollution & Pestilence Division
For well over a century, the fossil fuel industry has been aware of the destruction and death it has imposed on humans and has consistently denied everything. They’re just gonna continue to make everything worse.
Love the photo here. I don’t know which is worse. Seeing Trump’s hairs (and yes I the s there purposely) in the altogether or like this, with just scuzzy bits hanging out.
In a sane country, his coif alone would have disqualified him from running for office.
The dying ones, not so much.
E & E News … stands for “Exploitation and Extinction”, right?
Where are they going to get clean water to clean the coal?
Chiselin’ Trump doesn’t want to do anything that might put the jobs of China people at risk.
I will believe that Trump’s support for a “Clean and Advanced Fossil Fuel Alliance.” is altruistic when I start seeing oil rgs going up 500 yards off the Florida coast directly in front of Mar-a-Lago.
They’ll just use the same gray water that we’ll be forced to drink.
Oh cool, I really like Steampunk…
yes, that was snark, but i still like Steampunk.
Yeah, I was gonna say ‘but natural gas is hurting the coal industry…’
“I’ve tried for years to be a model simpleton” fixed it for you, Newt.
First meeting at Jurassic Park. Carnivores have not been invited to join, as T-Rex and Raptors destroyed previous attempts at alliances among fossils.
Clean coal and oil. Luffly.
This is what can be done when citizens decide it’s important.
Here’s an overview of power generation in Iceland:

Yes, they only have 350,000 people on the entire island.
Yes, the total power output is less than Grand Cooley Dam
But they made a decision in the early 70’s during the oil crisis (the Ol Kreppa) to get off fossil fuels,
and they have done it.
Only 5% of the energy consumption is residential
The rest is industrial, of which 70+% goes into aluminum smelting
So this is not a Walden Pond strategy - it’s focused on industry, and it works
We can do better.
He only understands graft and praise. Hopefully he won’t be getting much more of either in the future.
What a dumbass alliance! Natural gas is golden for fifty years!! Why would they take on coal’s issues?! This could be the stupidest alliance since Edsel married Ford.
