Trump claims he is no racist yet I see no evidence of that… what I see is rampant racism flavored with cruelty just for kicks. Why else would he i struct the border people to jail babies? Why else put them in cages on concrete with a space blanket and a bag of chips for comfort? Why else would he haul 3yr old toddlers into court to defend themselves before a judge with no lawyer? I will never forgive trump.

I guess we need to send the Statue of Liberty back to France.

What about the yearly caravan to Mar-A-Lago?
Do any escape?
Have they been vetted?

The French aren’t the problem. But these days they have a right to ask for Lady Liberty back. They already have a smaller version of their own near the Seine River in the middle of Paris.

Interestingly there is a restaurant here in Tucson that serves middle eastern food. The name?
Caravan.
It’s been in business for at least 15 years.
Oh the irony… founded by Syrians

So if you’re only going to accept asylum seekers at legal ports of entry does that mean that those ports of entry will be fully staffed? Will going against the international treaty be enough for Trump or does Stephen Miller something extra special up his short sleeves?

trump is destroying everything and anything that makes America a good and decent country. And Congress lays down to him and the media treat him with kid gloves. They barely defend their own when the abuse is public, profound, and obscene. He even shits on people … republicans who lost their races because they were insufficiently loyal to him personally. What a small man. What an obscene excuse for a human being. I used to think Nixon was the worst possible president. I was profoundly wrong in that estimation. At least Nixon, criminal that he was didn’t sell his country out to a hostile power.

I’m pretty sure this violates the law, as well as international treaties on the treatment of asylum seekers (which have the effect of law under the Constitution). This should not hold up in court, but we’ll see how much Trump and Republicans have shifted the court system when an obvious case like this hits it.

I think so too. Our treaties become part of the Constitution.

I’m sure the ACLU is preparing pleadings as I type.

What the hell AP? If they are going to claim “asylum” they are NOT migrants!

Migrants are seasonal workers who come and go doing jobs, not seeking “asylum” to stay. The right want you to think of them as just coming to take your job, that’s why they use “migrant” but there is NO reason the press should. Liberals must start bashing the press for using the scare tactic rhetoric of the right as the default in their reporting!

Mean while kids will be abused and start down a path that leads to a very nasty life. All due to trump’s demands on how they are to be treated.

When has trump worried about violating the law?

Are there signs on the Mexico side directing migrants to ports of entry? If none have been to the border before how would they know where they are. And, in lots of cases the ports are spread out, not convenient if there aren’t signs.

He’s backed down when courts have told him he can’t do something - like the Muslim ban.

The smallest of men. An obscenity in every dimension.

Yeah, I doubt that this will survive judicial review. The idea of a “legal port of entry” is purely administrative; if they ask any U.S. government employee for asylum, they have to get a hearing. That includes the Border Patrolman who detains them. Twitler really thinks he is a dictator and can change the laws at whim.

You are correct. The ACLU is on it.
