The model for Trump is Peron. Like Peron, Trump has created a personality cult. Everything revolves around him. Trumpism is also similar to Peronism in that there is no coherent intellectual foundation. The only thread that matters is the dictator doing what he needs to do in the moment in order to promote the interests of the dictator.
The article makes the point that Trumpism will outlive Trump, just as Peronism has outlived Peron, and that is absolutely correct. If Trump dropped dead tomorrow one of his kids would run in the 2020 general election in his place.
