will he move to have the judge recuse herself because she’s a woman and likely to be biased?
He was on duty. The headline reads as if it was the woman that was on duty.
True, but it was easier to get to the actual fact of the matter than yesterday’s photo of the Stanford rapist which the headline seemed to say was the victim. That photo could have easily been a woman, hence the confusion.
Sad commentary that no one even seems to think he might be telling the truth.
I assume you’re making the comment ‘guilty until proven innocent’ but he’s already been proven guilty…
In 2014, Theriot was sentenced to two years of probation after he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his sexual encounter with the woman.
this is a Federal trial about whether the woman’s civil rights were violated…
If I’m reading the article correctly, he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about having sex with the woman at all – which would be a huge violation even if entirely consensual. Now the suit includes the claim that the sex wasn’t consensual and that he physically restrained the victim. In other words, he raped her, but due to circumstances it’s highly unlikely he could be prosecuted criminally for that.
