Law question. Do prosecutors not bother with what must be dozens of felony assault charges because the murder charge is the biggie? Or are those charges brought separately? Just wondering if itâs a result of the way stories like this get covered or the way our justice system works.
That is if the prosecution is offering a deal. This is a slam dunk conviction for murder 1. I doubt theyâll consider anything less than max for this asshole. They canât lose. No reason to deal.
In Florida ( where I live ) they often hold them against deal making. If the defendants attorney gets ridiculous they bring out the additional charges. In this case they have no chance of losing a murder 1 verdict. No reason to ad more to it.

I think theyâd still be willing to offer something slightly less, like Murder 2. Thereâs always a risk that a jury will get confused and decide that he was under a lot of emotional strain and just lashed out, or even that he felt threatened by the counter-protesters and was defending himself. All it takes is one or two dunces on the juryâŚ
