Trump is not smart enough to have a PRESS CONF without ā€œwritten questions 2 hours priorā€. Other than ā€œtweetsā€ he is lost.

he’s not likely doing any for awhile.

But …but…Democrats dont come out and vote during mid terms…and neither do the ideological purists…so we probably lose a bunch of seats and the FOX and Trump folks go SEE we have another mandate. Let’s fuck over some more countries and millions of people here.

oh he’s smart, but when you are facing the equiv of a pack of snarling dogs, Facebook is perhaps the best way to go.

and that’s when I’ll really, really start wondering about the Democratic Party voter’s intelligence.

not touching this one

You’re not really saying that you’ll need to wait until 2018 to question the intelligence of American voters, are you? It should be agonizingly clear already.

Up for reelection in 2018 -
Senate Democrats 23, Republicans 8

I’m not looking at those numbers favorably no matter what trump and Co. do.

Right now, that doesn’t mean a thing.

If I’m Van Hollren, I’d try to defend all up to a point, but I would try to see which seats are likely in play due to greed more so than advantage (Ohio and Fla come to mind).

If the incoming DSCC chair can lose just six seats and possibly take two, imagine the shock waves.

now i’m not associated with the DSCC, so there ya go…

DId you see the CNN chyron clock ā€œNumber of days since Press Conferenceā€ like Hillz had?

No, me neither.

They have mentioned it in passing.

Wait awhile…these folks have been given enough rope to make a plant hanger. Unfortunately for them (and fortunately for us), that rope can still be turned into a noose.

Now don’t hold me to that, if we get that repeat performance of the media going back into Trump Tower.

But again, I’m going to be patient.

There was a great article in the London Review of books last summer about the weakening of nation states, called Somalia Syndrome. The excerpt I remembered when trump was elected was this:

Ordinary people and political activists in these countries may have been more aware than journalists of what was happening. After the US invasion Iraqis in particular were often cynical about their new rulers. ā€˜The exiled Iraqis are the exact replica of those who currently govern us,’ an anonymous civil servant told the International Crisis Group in an interview covertly conducted in Baghdad before the war began. He added that the only difference between the two was that the old regime was ā€˜already satiated since they have been robbing us for the past thirty years. Those who accompany the American troops will be ravenous.’

With the MSM starts coiling, let me know. I fear that they will simply normalize trump’s actions. The only way they push back hard against trump is if their profits are threatened. Without a vocal media on our side, it’s over.

I keep remembering that the only time in the whole campaign the press decided not to eat the shit he was serving was the D.C. hotel press conference. And was it because he was scamming them? No, it was because they weren’t allowed to have the pool reporter along while he was scamming them.

And not just Trump. Lt General Michael Flynn is Vice Chairman of Drone Aviation Holding Corp (DAC) and besides a salary (only $36,000 at moment but probably a nice supplement to his US Army Pension and subsidized groceries and other shopping for life) he has been awarded 100,000 shares which vest in two years. At current value of $3/per share, he owns a $300,000 dividend producing share of this company. Yet another conflict of interest to be vetted and dealt with. Extreme Vetting. Lobe Log-Cozy Overlap between Flynn’s Drone Company and Trump’s Border Plans description here

Quite a Swamp we have elected, there.

The same thing can be said for the media.

There was an interview on Colorado Public Radio recently that offered an interesting variation on this theme. A team of researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder say Trump’s style, from the jokes he made about other candidates to his hand gestures, was unusual, and was rooted in traditions of comedy and entertainment that date back hundreds of years.

You are waiting that long to wonder about the voters? How many do-overs do they get?

at least two

They don’t have to tell us something we already know. I’m really surprised that they are even edging on the subject. They are being so blatant about everything else. I guess they are looking at the impeachment implications? After the Top 1% gets their tax cuts and Ryan destroys Medicare, they really don’t need him.
