Discussion: Tracking License Plates At Abortion Clinics? It’s Not Just Happening In Texas

Discussion for article #226532

Do they stand outside the Tax Preparation office and record license plate info for the potential tax cheats?
Do they stand outside of refineries and record license plate info for the potential polluters?
Do they stand outside police stations and record license plate info for the potential dishonest cop?
Do the stand outside city and state legislators offices and record license plate info for the potential corrupt politicians (or lobbyists)?
Sounds like purposeful and discriminating persecution… and sexist, to boot.

The things in the U.S. that ought to be illegal tend to be legal and the things that should be legal tend to be illegal.

How is this not harassment and stalking and how can it be legal?

Remember people, the same tactics used by the Christian Teahadists can also be used by we on the left…picketing in front of their homes, annoying their neighbors.

However, I, like most other like-minded citizens I know, have actual jobs and lives, and are too busy to get involve with the personal decisions of others.

That alone should tell us something.

It’s high time we assemble where these Christo-fascist cultists convene on Sunday and picket them, photograph them, and write down their license plate numbers, identify them by name, and publish them on the Internet as the potential terrorists that they in fact are.

Most of these people call themselves “Christian”? This practice is harassment, an invasion of privacy and intimidation. How is that extending the inspired love of Christ?

OK, I’m totally naive. But how do you get someone’s home address from their license plate? Isn’t that information only available to law enforcement? I mean, you can’t just call up DMV and say “Gimme the home address for XXX-XXX.” There would be no legitimate need for a civilian to have that info, so how do they do it?

If you can’t win the argument with persuasion, then they figure intimidation will work instead. They not only take down license plates, but they film women as they enter the clinics and then harass them online. They invite violence on workers, patients, and doctors.

But never forget, they are “pro-life.”

There you have it.
Brought to you by the sanctimonious bastards at “Choir-boy-fuckers International”: The Catholic Church.
They also control the Supreme Court of the United States with 5 of the 9 justices being members of Opus Dei, a Catholic Institution that pledges obedience and fidelity ABOVE ALL OTHERS to Catholic Dogma.

All this would be blatantly illegal if the G.O.P. had not openly adopted a policy of naming Supreme Court justices who are anti-choice. They’ve never had the numbers to overturn Roe, but they’ve been able to chip away until the right to choose is almost non-existent. Remember this the next time someone like Ralph Nader tells you that you should waste your vote on his ego because there’s no difference between the democrats and republicans.

The slogan on the sign, “Stop Planned Promiscuity,” shows what’s really going on here. These people don’t care about the unborn. They only care that someone else is having more and better sex than they are, and they want to shut that down in the name of their virgin Lord.

The H.L. Mencken quote is appropriate here:
“Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere is having a good time.”

to the religious right , hmmmmmmmmm stop planned promiscuity…thats sounds a hell of a lot like big govt to me…also who the hell said its your GOD DAMMED business to say who, when ,and where I can screw …just go stick an aspirine between your F’N knees and leave us the hell alone

Uh, what if the woman gets a ride to the clinic from someone else? Since her license plate number doesn’t show up again at the clinic, do they count that as a “save”?

I wish they would spend their time volunteering to work with foster kids rather than harassing women who are getting birth control or abortions. Then again, these “pro-lifers” are only interested in embryos and fetuses, not with actual, living children.

The insult to intelligence that these anti-abortion wackos parrot is what keeps going through my mind. “Oh, you want an abortion? You need special counseling that we’ll have the government (which we otherwise hate) mandate, then make you wait another day. If you agreed with us, you’d never need this special counseling!”

WWJS: Who Would Jesus Stalk?

We can only assume this information is being collected for future use in violence against people seeking abortions. It’s what fascists do after all.

This isn’t news, though I am glad to see more accurate reporting about these misogynist freaks in the media. The crazies have been stalking and harassing clinic staff and patients since the late 80’s. And it’s never been about saving babies, just about controlling women’t bodies.
