This started, politically, in the 70s and got a strong foothold during the “Reagan Era”.
Pascal said that “Christians never do evil so cheerfully as when they do it with religious conviction.” The Christian Right is consumed with disdain for anyone that does not buy into their doctrine of condemnation against Choice and Equality. Love is so conditional with these people that it’s mostly absent from their vocabulary. They are so consumed with a narrow life view, they have completely missed the broader picture of helping others and demonstrating any compassion. Sadly, they vote based on such irrelevant criteria, they punish themselves and the rest of us.
