“Unexplained Cuba Attacks”? More like a mass psycho/sociogenic illness until more facts come to light.
Yeah. This very short article manages to use “attack” in one form or another SIX TIMES – not counting the headline!
When and how was it established that these “occurrences” are “attacks”?
What kind of journalism is this supposed to be?
Is there any independent confirmation of these “victims”? All i’ve heard (IANAJournalist) are reports from state department spokespeople - no other source, no “victim” directly. I hate conspiracy speculation like that, but an independent source would be nice…
If they are ¨unexplained¨ cases, how do does the author know they´re ¨attacks¨?
Hey Josh, stop doing Trump’s anti-Cuba propaganda for him. Nothing about these “attacks” has ever been independent confirmed. Just ask Canada. Does TPM believe Trump about climate change and “fake” news too?
If the US walks away from Cuba, Russia and China will be very happy. It will be their outpost just off our east coast. As is, a lot of the newer motor vehicles in Cuba are Chinese.
Canadian diplomats have reported the same way issues, which is one of the data points that support that it is a real issue since Canada has always had good relations with Cuba. Also suggests Cuba itself is not responsible.
There are several news outlets that identified the victims as U.S. diplomats who were sent to hospitals in Florida, citing hospital and other sources. The speculation is sonic surveillance that went awry causing brain trauma in some cases. The current article, also widely reported elsewhere, simply reports that the count of U.S. victims increased by two. If there’s a fault with the story, it’s that it doesn’t provide a link to an original report on the attacks. The original news articles referred to the reported illnesses as “attacks” since it appears that U.S. diplomats were targeted both at the U.S. embassy in Cuba, and later at local hotels, after the embassy was evacuated. If caused by sonic surveillance, it would perhaps explain why some Canadians reported similar symptoms.
The article refers to attacks as legitimate. That’s the biggest issue I have with the article.
