Discussion: Top Staffer Says Carson Talks To Many People On Foreign Policy 'All The Time'

Don’t worry. Trump will be great at this stuff because it’s eeeeeeasy.

Republicans seem to think sufficient foreign policy expertise to be the nation’s chief diplomat and commander in chief is just a thing they can tack on with a remedial cram course during the campaign. All of them.

Took people until six bloody, catastrophic years into his administration to realize that the self evident fact that George W. Bush was a foreign policy ignoramous was possibly a it of a problem. Took them until Romney’s “flop sweat” debate to catch on that Romney’s lifelong lack of interest was a problem in dangerous times. The disastrous “No Ally Left Uninsulted” tour he took in the summer of 2012 didn’t get it done.

The possibility that it’s a thing requiring either a lifelong interest or, at a minimum, several years of practical experience, doesn’t occur to them. The closest thing in this pack to foreign policy expertise is Graham. Think about that. The man who believes the answer is always “ground war” is the closet thing they have.

Carson’s campaign would appear to be jerking us all off. However, seeing as neither the left or right hand apparently knows what it’s doing that might no be true.

The arrogance of these bastards always amazes me. They think they can figure it out as they go, as if it’s like running for president (Clinton/Obama) where money, quick thinking and strong communication skills can get you to the prize. Eventually they figure it out, that it’s more complicated then originally thought. “OK, let’s start over” was probably their next idea. Kennedy had his Harvard Best and Brightest. Three decades later we get the Yale crowd and more of the same arrogance and stupidity from Bush and Brenner.
