Discussion: Top Senate Judiciary Dem: Trump Told Me He Was Firing Comey At 5:30

I admire her cool, but it is misplaced. As I’ve often said, the GOP is intent on establishing a one-party state and the Democrats should long ago have declared a state of democratic emergency and adopted a corresponding posture. The GOP has

  1. Stolen the House by gerrymandering
  2. Stolen the 2016 election with voter suppression and Russian disinformation.
  3. Stolen the Supreme Court.
  4. Stolen the DOJ and now the FBI.

The final step will be to fix and steal the 2018 elections.
We need our Democratic leaders to be very clear on this and call for a national strike or a national protest tonight. Something like that. Enough with the bullshit.

Sorry DIFI – Trump isn’t about to nominate someone who is “strong and independent” and whoever it is will receive an expedited fluff hearing in the Judiciary Committee… if the position isn’t left open for months in order to delay the Trump/Russia collusion investigation.

What, the Dems are not terribly sorry to see Comey go? Shocking…

Trump is using her to make it look like he is making a well informed decision. Trump contacting her is what a decent leader would do and we all know that is not the case with the ill one.

Can Jared take this on as well? I mean in his spare time. He is obviously a super-human person. Maybe his sister could help, just whip out her VISA card.

Sorry, but Trump defended and praised Comey for sending letter to congress in Oct. on Hillary’s emails, now Comey is no good anymore? Something really smells.

@nemo @dvdf1126

You have it wrong about Senator Feinstein and BTW Graham was notified as well. She was quoting what trumpp said to her which was

Feinstein said Trump told her the FBI needed a change, and that the next director “must be strong and independent.”

In any case, Nixon’s impeachment process began with obstruction of justice, and that’s what this is.

Is point 2. supposed to be 2016?

He told you at 5:30 and you weren’t on the phone to CNN or WaPo or whoever at 5:35? Fuck you.

What a completely feckless and enabling statement. DiFi, be more like Kamala!

I don’t. I consider it dangerous acquiescence. Enablement, if you will. Every Dem with a voice box should be shouting to the heavens right now that this is a banana republic style abuse of power and calling him a tin-pot dictator who needs to be stopped at all costs. This is a fucking outrage and her “cool” is a secondary outrage piled on top.

GET A FUCKING CLUE, DEMS. FIGHT OR GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY. IT IS NOW OR NEVER.

#NO. QUARTER.

Perhaps she was shell-shocked. She looks really tired to me.

Feinstein’s response is not the story and that he told her at 5:30 is not mentioned in any other reporting. Why wasn’t Graham on the phone at 5:35? So yeah, curse her out because that gets us nowhere, and let’s have all the senators yelling “fuck you” to the skies.

@sniffit

@katscherger I’d say “shocked” too. Anyone would look tired trying to fight the crazy repubs she’s surrounded with.

Trump firing Comey is obstruction of justice.

I agree. Time for her step aside and let someone younger and more vertebrate to take the reins.

This is the worst kind of ageism, proud of yourself?

The opposition’s response is just as much the story as the thing to be opposed. I didn’t curse her out, but I have no problem registering my sincere displeasure with weaksauce Democrats who don’t have the stomach for the fight against fascism. Her statement was innocuous, which is precisely the point.

President Frankenputz now owns his own version of the “Saturday Night Massacre.”
(If you don’t know what that was, just this once I’ll throw the 140-character generation a bone.)

Exactly. Every time you think you’ve seen the most shocking things from the administration, something even more shocking comes out.
