Discussion: Top Judiciary Dem: Dissenters Have 'Every Right' To Challenge Trump Orders

My senator makes perfect sense. When she runs in '18 at age 85 I’ll have to support her.

Sen. Feinstein: “The President is not a dictator.”

Herr Bannon: “We can fix that.”

I was thinking why is this even news? Of course dissenters have a right to protest and challenge the President in America. But then I realized she’s speaking to a Fox News audience and some may be hearing this for the first time.

Wonder what the ‘so-called’ SupremeCourtsJustices --(John’s Boys)…think about this?

“This is what they call shock and awe.”

Given the fact that every EO is yet another photo-op for a clueless buffoon it is also what they call “shuck and jive.”

This is good, very good. More language like “The President is not a dictator” is exactly what is needed. People across the land have got to be thinking at least a little that he is acting more like an authoritarian dictator than a president. It needs to be continuously pointed out.

The underlying problem is that President Bannon views it as the Jewdiciary branch of government.

The Repubs took President Obama to task and likened him to a dictator when he issued Executive Orders as a last resort when they obstructed much of his agenda. Now they are apologists for Trump’s same actions. How do you spell hypocrisy?? Sad!

Since the vast majority in congress fits this category they take the name. The few that speak out (i.e. McCain, Graham, and most recently Sasse) need a new term. How about ‘Republican Classic’ ala Coke Classic.

I’ve also thought so since the terrible days in 1978 following Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Milk’s murder. She became mayor following these events, and led us out of the darkness as best she could.

She also sent me a lengthy response to a message I sent about voting no on confirming Sessions. She said she was going to vote in the committee and vote no again when full senate took it up and voiced real passion in her opposition to him.

The President is not a dictator.

Bannon: Patriot Act disagrees.

I have to disagree with you on that. I have been disappointed in Sen. Feinstein for quite some time. What has she really accomplished lately except looking serious on TV? We need new blood. In 2018, I hope California has the opportunity to elect a young dynamic Governor and Sen. Not an 85 year old ‘go along to get along’ has been. I applaud Barbara Boxer making way for Kamala Harris. That’s the future of our party. Not Di Fi.

“The President is not a dictator.”

Yet he believes that he is a dictator.

The question now is this: Who is going to demonstrate to him that he is not a dictator? That may be more difficult than it appears.

And they’re already behind what’s already happened. I really don’t know how the Onion is going to survive these next few months or years or however long it takes us to wrench normality and reality back from the right’s shred bin.

Same reason Matt Stone and Trey Parker are backing away from their satirical Trump character on South Park. You just can’t write satire that can compete for laughs when the real thing is much funnier. Who would have thunk a sitting President would threaten war with Mexico unless they rein in their “bad hombres”… or would get into it with the Premier of Australia?

I would not look forward to the damaging fallout of the challenge to Dianne Feinstein, and I pity the “new blood” who takes her on. But that’s not to say I’m hoping there is no challenger. You are mistaken about the go along to get along you claim she’s done, however, and in fact gets trashed here regularly for NOT going along but for taking contrary stands. She’s right now taking a vocal stand against Sessions’ confirmation and remains committed to banning assault rifles, a life long cause for her because of the carnage she’s witnessed through the use of guns.

She was born and educated and still lives here in San Francisco, and remains popular here because of her years of service. Content yourself with knowing Gavin Newsom will likely win the governor’s seat in '18. There’s your new blood.

(Who this DiFi you speak of anyway.)
