He used to be a go to pundit on MSNBC but he always seemed like he wanted to lecture Obama about “what he has to do.” From a much lesser mind than Obama’s this rubbed me the wrong way.
Huffington Post as the editors make shifts in the website’s editorial style
Huh, didn’t realize they even bothered with editors at HuffPo. Though it’s been upwards of a decade since I paid any attention to Fineman, I recall liking him and him being a decent moderate if not leaning liberal voice in journalism (of which there are extremely few), maybe he’ll counter the conservative slant NBC has been taking as of late.
I never could stand Fineman. He’s almost as annoying as Arnold Schwarzenegger trying to play comedy.
I remember one time he was on “Countdown” with KO, after the Don Imus “nappy headed hoes” comments about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team, and Howard actually stood up for Imus, like it was a great test of Second Amendment freedoms instead of stating the fact that Imus got fired from his job for being a bald-faced fucking racist. Fineman even gave a clenched-fist salute to Imus, as though his plight was comparable to the protest by the black athletes at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. What an asshole.
Like I said, I can’t stand him.
Oh, but I must say, in Howard Fineman’s defense, that he does have great hair - the second-best in television, after Bob Costas, of course.
Hope they checked his groping record.
I hear what you’re saying but Chuck Todd is the Political Director for NBC news and his bias is so evident that it’s sickening. He remains a Tramp fluffer of the worst kind because he appears to want to be balanced.
NBC needs to just ditch Todd. Let Joy Reid take over MTP (although my dream host would be Rachel!) and replace the MTP Daily with another show.
Chris Matthews is so past his sell-by date but he’s still there, spittle in the corners of his mouth while he asks and answers his own questions while shamelessly hawking his Bobby book.
No. Did he ever write for The New York Times? Or The Los Angeles Times? Or The New Yorker? Or CBS News? Or NPR? Or TPM?
Fineman used to write for Newsweek, among other things.
And, in my opinion, if you’ve never read him, you’ve saved yourself a great deal of time that could be better spent watching paint dry.
Read; canned as fall guy for lackluster numbers that totally aren’t his fault.
Read; demotion, onward and downward-back to his roots.
Read; final ounce of integrity was choking him, he had to go.
