Discussion: Top House Republican: GOP Can't Sue Obama, Then Ask Him To Act On Border

This is a rare event indeed: a Republican exhibiting circumspection and having a “Say What?” moment. Perhaps a new comet will also be discovered today or two back-to-back no-hitters will be pitched in a double header.

A voice crying in the wilderness.

I have not heard any solutions from the right or you for that matter.

Proof please. You can’t just make stuff up. It’s lazy.

sorta like when the state dept needed money to improve security at our embassies and consulates and the republicons said NO!!! then went ona rampage about benghazi because of lack of security or what ever reason they come up with depending on what day it is the memo comes out for talking points

Does this means that Obama can’t simply apply the existing laws passed by Congress? I thought the Constitution gives him executive powers.

The Constitution does give presidents such power—but conservatives believe that power vanishes like a Republican ethics if the president is not white enough.

The impression I get of Cole is that he’s a pretty responsible guy.

Agreed. And he is not a crazy man. He is one of the very few reasonable people on the hill.

Fuck off you lying piece of crap. Take your junk somewhere else

This lack of messaging discipline would have never happened under Tom Delay’s iron grip.

Would have been nice if he could have made his point without simultaneously accusing the president of refusing to act:

We’ve got a good bill that actually addresses the problem, a problem the President has identified but refused to produce a solution to

Ah, so we’ve gotten to the point where one of the highest ranking members of one of America’s two major political parties openly admits that his party has no higher policy principles or convictions than trolling. Good to know.

That’s what they do. The president acts, they sue/impeach him. He encourages them to come up with ideas and to pass bills and they pull shit like they did yesterday.
And then no matter what, they push themselves in front of the camera and blame Obama. It’s their plan. Do nothing and make sure nothing gets done.
Then you have asswipes saying dumb shit like “the American people deserve better”, yet guess who they are directing the comment towards?
Yep, you guessed right — Obama
