For anyone who doesn’t understand: when I say “No Mercy, No Quarter” it applies to EVERYONE. Hoyer, Pelosi, all of them NEED that treatment right now. This is precisely why I never will register as a Democrat or to any party. Hoyer just bent ALL OF US over and presented our assholes to the marauders raping and pillaging our homes, our families, our communities and our country. If they don’t recognize this as time to take a stand, then there is absolutely nothing that will ever make them recognize such a time and it’s over.

No impeachment investigation, no 2020 vote. THAT should be the message their given loud and clear and if you’re too fucking effete and chickenshit to take that stand with them yourself, you’re to blame for them always failing to take any stand on our behalf.

Indeed. This statement from Hoyer is pretty much the equivalent of McConnell’s argument for not allowing hearings for Merrick Garland. “There’s an election in the not-too-distant future.” A year, 18 months, 2 years, 4 years — what does it matter? Avoid, dismiss, punt, so long as it doesn’t impact my privilege or my pocketbook.

The point is that this is an avoidance of congressional duty of oversight. A dereliction. Not surprising, but still depressing. I look forward to when the younger cohort of representatives start to come into their own, and we can have…a whole new crop of political hypocrisy. But at least it will be a new hypocrisy.

Could you possibly entertain the idea that it’s really a gift to Trump if we do it and he is then acquitted by the Senate as he would be? Then he has a big fat acquittal that would bar further prosecution for those crimes. And he would make the most of it. O my god he would.
