Discussion for article #225674
Whatever this guy is getting paid, I’ll go out and state the blindingly obvious for half the price.
The president isn’t solving the problems.
You’d think the House Majority Whip would understand the process:
- The president proposes solutions
- Congress votes on them.
- The president signs the solutions into law.
What we’ve had since 2009 is this:
- The president proposes solutions
- The Republicans block the legislation from coming to a vote
- The Republicans complain that the president isn’t solving problems.
I don’t see the president as the spanner in the works, Congressman.
The point is that this is the whipsaw: telling reporters that impeachment talk is ginning up Dem base involvement and Teabilly aggression is smart: more Dem base involvement, plus the Teabilly squeeze of GOP corporate wing, forcing R candidates & leaders to say stupidly inflammatory things, is all to the good.
I sense Harry Reid’s rope-a-dope tactical sense here.
“ ‘I think that the Republican strategy of lawsuits, approaching impeachment, is fundamentally misfiring,’ Israel said”
Wow, the country of Israel said that?
Oh, Steve Israel said that. Didn’t get that from the TPM article.
Astute reading!
