I think that’s quite relevant. He was guest of honour at a televised event sitting next to Putin. Not the sort of thing you’d expect to be able to hide during a security background check.

- Flynn lied on his forms. He stated that he was paid for the gala by ‘US firms’, when the money clearly came from RT.
- He did not reveal that he was paid by Turkey to lobby on their behalf.
He did not hide the fact that he went to the gala, so you can stop trying to deflect now.

I don’t think you’re right about that. IIRC, Flynn was fired for not being a team player, not for any security related issue, so I don’t think his clearance was affected. DT was just clumsily trying to blame whatever he could on Obama.

But why the quote marks on “Lied” in the title? Don’t they weaken it? Flynn sort of lied? Flynn uttered so-called lies? Why avoid straightforward statement?
I don’t know what is service while in the military was like, but it seems like since then he’s lied, cheated, and stolen with no regard to loyalty to the US to make money.
What’s remarkable is how little Flynn was willing to whore himself out to the Russians for. $45K for 5 years in prison - $9K per annum. That’s Food Stamp money, baby.

I used to know a guy in my town who was hugely successful as a zoning attorney during the building boom of the previous decade. He got busted last year after a sting in which he agreed to launder money for someone who turned out to be an undercover officer. After working this guy for a couple years they busted him and put him away. His take from the two-year money laundering scam was about $15K.
