Discussion: Top Aide Says Trump Will Hold Press Conference On Jan. 11

“I believe it was rescheduled for Jan. 11, originally, and if the lawyers and the compliance officers feel like we’re ready, then we’ll stick to that date. It’s really up to them,” Conway told Anderson Cooper on Monday, as quoted by CNNMoney.

What did Trump say?

Any bets on whether it will actually happen or get “rescheduled” again?

I’m just hoping that the conference is on the 11th.

I need to see if my fact checking is still good.

Compliance officers won’t let him do press conferences. Tax attorneys won’t let him release taxes.

LOL, this will never happen, and the Press will support him in never holding a press conference during his tenure, he will dangle the carrot though and they will chase it, but he is exempt from everything, so he’ll never do it, unless it is a Press Conference discussing just how great he is.

not everything, but it requires the obvious…

I don’t know which part is more hilarious, the part about him actually having a press conference on a set date or the part where we’re supposed to believe Trump has “lawyers and compliance officers” who are anything other than sociopaths paid to manufacture reasons his grifting is ok.

Well, some sort of ‘news gathering’ will eventually happen and it will not be like any press conference we have ever seen. It will be tightly controlled. Some news outlets will not be included. Questions will be approved in advance and ‘friendly’ members of ‘news outlets’, Fox, Breitbart, Drudge, the National Enquirer, etc., will be given prominent seating. Trump will take easy friendly questions and defer other more ‘serious’ ones to one of his minders, like Priebus. They will define this as a ‘press conference’ and the cowed news establishment, especially TeeVee News, will happily accede because masochism and access.

Who needs press conferences when we have Twitter?

The most important question should be “Who is actually going to be running the country?”.

Wanna bet?

my guess is…it takes time to work out the logistics of having the “plants” submit their questions in advance and getting the fuhrers 3 minute attention span focused on his prewritten answers.

And on the 11th we’ll learn the new meaning of the words “press conference”: Big Orange standing just outside the elevator door of Trump Tower with Scott Baio next to him. Scott Baio will be waving flags and will be referred to as a “good guy.” Orange will answer a few questions, then step back into the elevator. The elevator doors will then close, ending the “press conference.”

Well, I’m certainly going to keep my calendar open for 01/11. I would not want to miss hearing: “My lawyers and compliance officers say everything will be OK. Period” or “The press conference has been cancelled and will be rescheduled because President-elect Trump’s lawyers and compliance officers do not feel like we’re ready to talk about the conflicts thing - and we know there are no other issues about which you want any questions answered.”

If he holds a press conference this time, the audience will be able to hear the questions. That will make a difference.
