What an apt metaphor. (Okay, an apt simile. I stand corrected, except that I am actually sitting, if we want to be pedantic.)
Flake will put up about as much fight as the Italian army.
Eh, probably, but itâs Republican-on-Republican violence. Iâm not going to stand in the way.
How will McConnell squash Flake? Did he say?
McConnell will âsquashâ Flake âLike a Bug.â
Iâd pay to see that. And as for Flake standing up to McConnell, Iâll believe that when I see it, which I wonât. Flake is a flake.
Metaphors, similes - theyâre all the same I guess!
I always enjoy the vernacular they like to use. You would think after saying that, one of them would pound their chest, race away to do three triathlons and pound sand on the beach to show how tough they are.
Toobin did not say, nor was he asked.
Anyway, Flakeâs threat relies on certain traditional rules and privileges.
You see the problem.
Toobin On Flake Threat Over Mueller Bill: McConnell Will âSquashâ Flake 'Like A Bugâ
McConnell Will âSquashâ Flake 'Like the spineless worm he isâ
FIFY
Let the disagreements begin. Rethugs out of lock step, a rare phenomena to be cherished. Rethugs at war, bring it on.
Saw the end of Toddâs show. No one was optimistic about Flake getting anywhere with this, because heâd also need more republicans to join him.
Anyway, Flakeâs threat relies on certain traditional rules and privileges.
Yes, therein lies the problem.
Best of luck to Flake.
McConnell has said that heâll allow Mueller to finish - but he hasnât indicated that he supports allowing Mueller to continue.
No more Flake News!
That day is also coming for the Traitor MitchâŚlong overdue.
Exactly. Most bugs at least have an exoskeleton. Flake doesnât even have that.
Now, Iâm still waiting for the Member from Maine to introduce her legislation.
And what Flake will inevitably fail to get done will be taken up next year by Senator rMoney. Itâs a Mormon thing.
Toobin has been wrong as least as many times as Flake has rolled over - we are talking big numbers here, folks.
I would like to see some other Republicans join with Flake on this - after the midterms, there may be more resistance than people are perceiving. Trumpâs little press conference did not win him many friends.
Rumors are flying that the movers and shakers are prepping to back away from the Pile of Orange. So in the short run look for them to actually act like theyâre not, which means theyâll have to perform some cruel actions for the audience. Flake seems like a useful lump of meat to lash to the stake and burn. Hereâs your chance, Flakey! One last chance to demonstrate that you have some human blood in you!
You are probably 100% correct, but I am going to go with cautiously slightly optimistic. Flake imagines that he has a political future acting as though heâs the only adult left who can save the Republican party. That could cause Flake to act as though he has a spine (at least for a little while). I think he also has zero love for tRump, which may again cause him to act as though he has a spine.
