The new machine is a commercial-grade Pasquini semi-automatic espresso machine (actually a tuned-up La Cimbali).
It comes with a built-in metal filter.
And I am more than certain the coffee drinkers there pony up to buy some ground espresso beans for their 10 am Americanos … even if they can’t keep it clean.
FWIW, it inspired me to break my pump driven DeLonghi out of storage and get some ESE pods from Amazon again. I am fully okay running a trade deficit with Italy for the remainder of the current administration lol.
