Of course politicians undergo trial by newspaper. They always have and as long as we have any claim to being a democracy they always will. Tom if you want to represent people, people have a right to hear stuff about you you might not want said.

This always eats at me. I canā€™t count how many times Iā€™ve yelled at the TeeVee when some talking head says ā€œAnd yet the people chose him as our president anyway.ā€ The people did NOT choose him! They clearly picked his opponent! The system chose our president.
