Discussion: Tom Cotton: Joe Biden Has Been Wrong About Everything For 40 Years

“I want complete nuclear disarmament.” = “I want a long and expensive ground war in Iran, led by a depleted, all volunteer U.S. Army until we find Iran’s weapons of mass destruction. Then its on to Pakistan . . . oh wait, they already have nuclear weapons.”

I sometimes ask myself or TPM the same question and I have to remind myself: know thy enemy.

He’s a Fresh, Exciting New Face! He Has Important Things to Say that Express the Will of the American People as Expressed by the 19% of them who voted Republican in 2014.

It’s the same thing that caused them to breathlessly report on the doings of the exciting new totally out of nowhere grassiest of grass roots Teeeeeeeeeee Parteeeeeeeee throughout 2009 and 2010.

It is noteworthy how many really extreme right and mostly not too bright whackadoodles got into the Senate in '14.

Yes, but between the two of them, the aggregate IQ equals that of an imbecile or a moron (I forget which is lower on the IQ scale).

The charge about Biden isn’t even original, but was made by Bob Gates, who subsequently backed off much of it. The truth is that Biden certainly isn’t perfect, but he has been right about as often as anyone in Washington. Most recently, his call that Iraq be broken into Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish states looks pretty damn good, since if the Sunnis had been running their own state, ISIS would have had a whole lot less appeal as a liberator from Shiite oppression.

To be fair: they ALL do.

Even thought they have committed treason they still throw crap out there…

Wow! Just Wow!
From his Wikipedia entry:

In 2013 Cotton introduced legislative language to overturn the United States Constitution prohibition of attainder.

So, he wanted to restore an unfair,18th century legal concept. Lets go back to the day’s when men were men, and start the War of The Spanish Succession all over again.

Biden has been a much better lawyer than Cotton, so he might want to avoid this fight. Also, since he is auditioning for John McCain’s job as “War Hero for the Defense Industry” he might try to be a bit less of a tweeker. Lockheed Martin, Boeing, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, McDonnell Douglas, etc. want the budgets and the multi-decade commitments to their weapons systems, which is why keeping a guy in office for many decades is an advantage. However, how the military machine is actually funded, particularly the more baroque systems, should never be public knowledge. That’s not how Forever War works.

Tom Cotton is the new Joe McCarthy. Mark my words. He is one helluva ruthless demagogue. He’ll destroy a lot of people before he crashes and burns.

Actually, in REALITY, Cotton ORIGINATED the letter play.

It’s also noteworthy how much attention those dim whackadoodles continue to receive from the media.*

*By noteworthy, I mean “cringeworthy”.

The endless focus on all the polls of Republican voters who thought Obama was an alien, the endless focus on Rick Santelli’s rant, the endless focus on Tea Partiers, and the endless focus on every whackjob GOP with something outrageous to say about President Obama. And this is from the so-called “liberal media”.

Why, you’d almost think there was an agenda.

There. Fixed that headline for you.

This isn’t a treaty, but an agreement among various parties. There have been dozens of such agreements made by Presidents and not submitted for ratification. Of course, subsequent Presidents could re-evaluate this agreement, but like they say in the Geico ads: “Everybody knows that.”

I wonder if anyone has asked Cotton what he thinks the other parties to the agreement (Russia, China, the UK, France and Germany) would do if the US pulled out for domestic political reasons and how sanctions from the US alone would work.

The MSM is sooooooo boooored with all this sober, sensible judicious and effective governance. They want the party boys back.

Yes, but everybody said that about Ted Cruz too. Why do they have to be compared with famous demagogues of old? Why can’t Cruz’ and Cottonmouth’s assholery stand on it’s own merits? Well, if you must; out with the old, in with the new.

Anyone else find it uncanny how much Cotton looks like the kid in the OU racist chant video?

Methinks coincidence is trying to tell us something.

In fact, right now, I am imagining the SNL-type skit of Congressional GOPers/Teatrolls on a bus to CPAC engaged in just such an activity…(the bus driver, of course, just happens to be black in the skit…played by Samuel L. Jackson…it almost writes itself)…

This limping imbecile was corrected on his Constitutional point by the Iranian foreign minister…the Iranian foreign minister knows more about US Constitutional law than a MAJORITY of Republican Senators! This explains much of the last 17 years.

Why is Cotton getting so much attention? Well, convincing 46 of your colleagues to join you in fooling around with treason and violating your oath of office generally attracts attention.

What an assmunch Cotton is! I abhor repubs. Folks tell me they vote for repubs because they are conservative. What is a conservative?
