Discussion for article #237182

Whew! Thank heaven he got delusional at the end: I was beginning to think that I’d found a thoughtful Republican.

I’m loving that the GOP is so fractured and disjointed and the Dems aren’t.

It smells like… Victory.

Yeah, he was going down a list and there’s no enthusiasm for any of them. Even the praise was lukewarm. He was an obstructionist while he was in the senate, but he’s talking sensibly here.

lacks the sufficient level of conservatism.

You tell 'em, Tom.

Well, I don’t despise Rubio either, especially as much as I do some of the others. Rubio seems like a clueless, cool kid that I would hate to have as a boss but wouldn’t bother me as a less than bright neighbor.

Pick-a-winner-Coburn. Yep.

I think that Tommy only likes himself. He’s a real winner just like Brownback, both pure poison.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Every time I see Rubio, I think of “Alpha House”.

Perfect analogy! He’s like a character from Glengarry Glen Ross!

I despise everything coming out of Tom Coburn’s mouth.

That’s it. Only I prefer the British version.

I agree none of them are presidential material, but, Coburn picks the moron.

Lack of integrity, not capable on a Presidential level, not ready for prime-time…ouch! Looks like Rubio got the nod as the best of a horrible lot. Not exactly a resounding endorsement.

“He’s my kind of muchacho,” Mr. Coburn later said. “Not like Mexicans.”

And that is what just drives me crazy about Coburn. He’s capable of being thoughtful and insightful, but then his partisan crazy kicks in and he’s right off the rails.

Yes. That is like the lukewarm endorsement of all time. It’s more or less “of all the idiots running, he’s the least stupid”.
