Discussion for article #233688
would push his party away from focusing on economic issues and toward social issues like abortion.
because it worked so well the last time!
I assume the GOP establishment has ways to shut that whole thing down?
Run Todd Run! The GOP has devolved even further since 2012 so you would be a perfect fit for a MO Senate nomination! Don’t let the RINOs shut that whole thing down!
This is like George Zimmerman scheming for another stint as neighborhood watch coordinator. Sounds like a plan!
“The Tea Party is skeptical and wants some fresh blood, not just the same establishment guys.”
Exactly Missourians! Why let regular old establishment GOP assholes ruin the state and nation when you can elect Todd Aiken to do it?
Which begs the question: “Does he have a legitimate chance in hell?”
I had been worried about how to get rid of Roy Blunt. Now Todd Akin comes up with the perfect solution.
This is the most hilarious thing to happen to MO conservatives since voters overwhelmingly voted for a dead man, Governor Mel Carnahan, over former Senator and AG John Ashcroft. Republicans already had “Don’t You Know the Definition of NO” Catherine Hanaway running for Governor. You may remember that earlier this year she blamed working women for income inequality.
This Akin announcement is just icing on the cake. Blunt is in very deep trouble. The Fundies have never really liked him because he divorced his wife and married his lobbyist mistress just six months after thus embarrassing his conservative dynasty political family. Akin is just the guy to make this an issue in the primaries.
I guess Todd couldn’t find a job in the private sector.
A chance? Sure Akin has a chance. A chance of making Blunt pay millions to run in the primary and probably lose it as well.
Todd Akin and the RWNJ’s have a learning disorder…BIG TIME!!
Why it’s as if his body has some biological mechanism that forces his exhibitionism…
Yup, as long as he browsed through any 9th grade Biology book since he last ran.
This dude always creeped me out. Then I read somewhere (not sure if it’s true) when he married he became step-dad to his wife’s two.young.sons. Have a nice evening.
“…not just the same…”
Exactly the same. I recognize his name.
He won’t make the same mistake again; he’ll make completely new mistakes.
Just shut him down.
Just like the people who vote for them
Wow! Roy Blount is not conservative enough?! Who is then? Pontius Pilate? Attila the Hun??
Heh! From his Wikipedia page:
In a 2008 speech on the House floor, Akin called abortion providers “terrorists” and alleged that it was “common practice” for abortion providers to perform “abortions” on women who were not actually pregnant.
This guy is deliciously creepy.
