Where to even start ā¦?
See? Itās working! If you just sit quietly rocking in the corner, youāll be much safer.
"New vehicles would be cheaper ā and heavier ā if they donāt have to meet more stringent fuel requirements and more people would buy them, the draft says, and that would put more drivers in safer, newer vehicles that pollute less.
At the same time, the draft says that people will drive less if their vehicles get fewer miles per gallon, lowering the risk of crashes."
Canāt wait to buy my newer, heavier car so Iāll be safer. However, I will drive less since fuel will not get me as far. For instance Iāll only drive to within 1 mile of my office, and Iāll walk the rest of the way.
Then, Iāll probably get hit by a bus crossing the street - or by one of those bigger, newer, heavier cars.
My mindās boggled also too.
Other things that are dangerous:
Eating fruits and vegetables everyday.
Brushing your teeth.
Saving for retirement.
Backing up your hard drive.
Using an umbrella when it rains.
Waiting patiently at a red light.
How about? If they were really interested in reducing crashes, they could use this day in Infrastructure Week to push for better public transportation in our cities. Less cars on the road would reduce crashes and reduce pollution.
Remember Dan Akroydās āBag of glassā character on SNL?
Now THAT was funny.
Show of hands for how often your carās gas mileage factors into your day-to-day driving habits.
Itās my experience in EMS, that working on technology to CONTROL THE WEATHER!!! would have more more effect on crash rates, call rates for vehicle accidents sharply increase when it starts raining.
THE.STUPID.CONTINUES.TO.RISE. Just saying.
Straws may be on the way out, but that doesnāt stop these jokers from grasping at them.
And yet more and more Republicans flock to his cult. Reality means nothing. Obey only the Grimm Leader Inferior. Yes Master.
Imagine being the person who has to come up with a rationale for undoing each and every Obama Administration regulation. This sounds like that. Based on nothing but - Obama did it so it must be erased repealed - but that doesnāt sound great when rolling out (and documenting said repeal) - so make up gibberish.
āWar is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
Fuel efficiency is lethal."
āGeorge Orwell, 2018
At assumed that the lede would be the stupidest thing I read in this article. Then I got to the part where a college educated adult called for a ā50 state solutionā in order to have only one mileage standard.
And then I got to the part that said that they ādeliberately limited the amount of mass reduction necessary under the standards. This was done āin order to avoid the appearance of adverse safety effects,ā the draft stated.ā I remember when government actually thought that they should do things that would protect people instead of doing things to avoid the appearance of something. And chances are, there will be the āappearanceā of adverse safety effects because there will be actual adverse safety effects.
Iām guessing that people in farm states wonāt be able to afford new trucks or cars, but this is going to stink for the a-holes with the rolling coal trucks when it costs more to choke out the Prius in the lane next to them.
An April draft from the Trump administration said freezing the requirements at 2020 levels would save people $1,900 per new vehicle. But the later draft raises that to $2,100 and even as high as $2,700 by 2025.
Ah written before the start of the Great Tariff Wars of 2018. Those were heady times my friends, we thought theyād never end.
I actually find it easier to believe George Orwell said that in 2018 than I believe the WH gas mileage argument.
If ya canāt come right out and show Obamama was born in Kenya ā¦
ya just havta go about erasure ā¦ sneeky ā
Black guy ā¦ White House ā¦ Eewwww ā
Besides ā¦
Ya donāt ever havta worry about gas mileage until ya can get it started ā
Interestingā¦better gas mileage will get folks to drive more, but lower gas prices wonātā¦interestingā¦
