Discussion: TLC Finally Cancels '19 Kids' After Josh Duggar Molestation Allegations

Discussion for article #238479

Took them long enough. Maybe they should consider putting up some educational programming instead of all this exploitative crap.

Gosh, those Duggars. They are SO wacky it took TLC EIGHT WEEKS to decide they did not want to give air time to a pedophile.

Now, before someone says “that’s ALLEGED pedophile” allow me to retort. ‘Come on.’

Isn’t there probably a GoFundMe site already setup for these irresponsible moochers and breeders?

As Eustace would say “this would be a sure sign of abject moochery to come, if these folks were not whiter than my bedsheets.”

Glad I didn’t hang by the neck waiting for this.

“But we have some other great shows, both on the air and in the pipeline.”

Translation: “There’s a lot more trash and freaks for our channel! You’re gonna love it!”

BUT TLC is considering a spin-off:

However, a spokesman for Discovery Communications, which owns TLC, said the channel is not ruling out a spin-off show featuring some of the Duggar children in the future.

The grifting can continue.

Probably 19 “GoFundMe” sites and counting!

Hey, it worked for the Palin family. Maybe Josh can do a spinoff show about seduction with Bill Cosby.

I guess God had had enough of their television shenanigans, and saw to it that the plug was pulled. I mean, he IS all-powerful, and could have helped them stay on the air, but he wasn’t in no mood for their nonsense. Praise him!

Kaplan, the executive who oversees TLC, told the AP that the network now plans to shine a light on child abuse and partner with the Duggar family to achieve that goal. She said that an hour-long documentary featuring survivors of childhood sexual abuse, including two of the Duggar daughters, and their families is scheduled to air in August.

“Partner with the Duggar family,” AP?? Really? Is that how they told you to describe it?

You mean “give the Duggars a platform” to excuse away their behavior surrounding these incidents in some flailing attempt by TLC to make themselves seem like responsible exploiters.

EDIT: Not coincidentally, this is exactly the way it was described on MSNBC, almost verbatim. They must think we’re all fools. They’d have been better off just calling it a PR campaign and avoid looking so craven and two-faced.

it was not the “Allegations” … it was the obvious cover-ups / denials / distortions / deliberate misrepresentations - that revealed the Duggar’s hypocrisy & lack of veracity

It’s about bloody time! Freaks should never be celebrated!

And it’s not allegations when the little freak ADMITTED he did it!

It’s semantics. They are going to cancel THIS show, but don’t worry, we have plenty of other Duggar nonsense in the wings! Don’t look over here! Shiny keys…

Just goes to verify what people say about Southerners and inbreeding, I guess that explains why Southerners are so dam dumb to keep voting for Republican morons.

“Gee, that’s a shame.”

(Jerry Seinfeld)

Cue next exploitative crap TLC program in 3-2-1…

I know. After all, TLC hasn’t been about learning for a long time. They’re all about making lots of profits.
