That’s rather poor framing of her response. What she should have said was:
“I regret being a distraction, but I still want to impeach the motherfucker.”
I would have liked a response more like: “A distraction? Seriously? Grow the fuck up.”

OK, just to be a tiny bit of a questioner here—was it helpful? Simple question. Did it get us further toward the goal? No? Then let’s not do a lot more of it. Contrary point: until now, Dem officeholders have taken shit for merely mentioning the possibility of impeachment. When Tlaib did so, most of the flak she got was for “motherfucker”, and only a teeny bit for “impeach”. Looked at as a trial balloon, hers showed us where the actual priorities are here. Given a chance to ding her on something besides “impeach” in the interest of (false) “balance”, the media gleefully dinged her on language, and left “impeach” standing.
