Joe Cunningham-D SC, won that seat fighting against trump’s off shore oil drilling on the Atlantic coast. Joe is an ocean engineer and attorney. And he ran on that issue - no off shore drilling in SC. Tailor made for that seat at that time.
And if he does well the next 2 years, look out Lindsey. Probably a bridge too far, but hey…2 years is a long time in politics.
Late: Take note Dems - coastal Rs want to protect their coasts too. Now there’s something we can work across the aisle on.

Ok, this sounds great. I am sure though that Cunningham’s GOP opponent was a Trump/Tea Party type who defeated Sandord in a primary, n’est pas? Or am I, as I frequently am, shooting first and asking questions later? (To which I am entitled at my Senior bracket age. I will have you know.)
