Discussion: Tim Kaine To GOP: Don't 'Tank A Deal Before There Is A Deal' With Iran

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) said Tuesday that the letter to Iran signed by 47 Republican senators “sabotages the same office that George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan held, attacks our country’s basic constitutional principles, and destroys our credibility… We shouldn’t stab a deal in the back before there is a deal…There’s a right way and a traitorous way to approach these matters, and the Republican Party has clearly chosen the latter.”

FIFY, you mealymouthed hack.

Well said, clearly not…

Who are the foreign leaders McCain admits to writing to “all the time”? Putin? Kim? Bibi?

Senator Angus King is from Maine, not Vermont.

Kaine and Angus King are not on board with Republican Exceptionalism.

Sen. Angus King (I-VT)

BZZZZT! Sorry, the answer we were looking for was “Sen. Angus King (I-ME)”. The I-VT senator is Bernie Sanders.

It’s high time the Democrats (and Independent here) start to return fire with the GOP’s only real weapon: adjectives.

They’ve smeared and smeared by characterizing the president, the vice president and the Democrats, not to mention everyone who isn’t rich, with adjectives (“weak” is the one they use on Obama, for example; “lazy” and “greedy” for poor people).

Kaine is teaching them how to turn their weapons against them, and pretty effectively I might say. Kudos.

This kind of rogue operation happens in the Senate & House because nobody is in charge. McConnell/Boehner are apparently figureheads. Committee Chairs have no power over their young Turks TEA Partiers. Anybody with a camera/microphone, Twitter acct., or word-processor can cause havoc solo or en masse. Don’t expect any discipline here.

I have zero questions about it.

They aren’t.

Is the contention the GOP letter to Iran heightens the possibility of armed conflict a feature, not a bug?

“weakens our president, weakens our country, weakens our credibility”

Slow down, sugar – you had me at 'hello."

Oh, there ARE adults with backbones in the Senate

No kidding…Look at what was done to the Dixie Chicks when they denounced Bush…

Tim Kaine is a DLC disciple and a neo-con of the first order. We have enough of those currently in the Democratic field of potential candidates, specifically Hillary Clinton, She acts as a stand in for all the poles of idiot neo-cons and DLC worshippers of fat-cats.

Half the country would be speaking Japanese, and the other half German.

The Republican party couldn’t organize a piss-up.

"Is it just partisanship now?" he said, saying it’s important for lawmakers to avoid creating the impression that "Congress is now just a partisan, sort of sideshow."

Too late, Congress already is pure partisan… they need to work on reversing it, not avoiding it.

Their Dark Master: Sheldon Adelson has decreed that his simpering minions start a war with Iran. So shall it be.

Couldn’t we save trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides by simply eliminating Sheldon Addled-son?
