There was applause again when Tillerson said a streamlined process will ease the delay in approving security clearances so that workers can begin duties.
Like that which was used for Kushner? You remember him, right? Trump’s top diplomatic deal maker to bring peace in the Middle East?
Well that certainly sounds like a laughing matter…
Any more of Tillerson’s reforms and there won’t be a soul left at Foggy Bottom.
“Do we have any wins to put on the board? No. That’s not the way this works,” Tillerson said. “Diplomacy is not that simple.”
“This is a hard job,” Tillerson said.
Nobody knew diplomacy could be so complicated.
I know. I bet they were all in stitches. Ol’ Tilly. What a jokester.
Oh boy. This is both sad and funny to read, at the same time.
“Do we have any wins to put on the board? No. That’s not the way this works,”
Yet every other State Department in my memory has definitely had some wins on the board to point to, even if I didn’t consider them wins, they did achieve them.
“This is a hard job,” Tillerson said. “When I say I’m learning to enjoy it, I am.”
I just…don’t know which comment to go with on that one. The man is saying he is learning to enjoy losing? Of being a complete failure? That seems extremely self deprecating, even for someone who has been sucked into the Trump dignity black hole.
My guess is still, the only thing Tillerson is enjoying right now, is counting down the days until he officially resigns and gets out of there entirely. While praying he doesn’t get ensnared by Mueller.
In fairness, he has come up with a rather creative plan for that. Simply eliminate the diplomatic corps and refuse to appoint ambassadors. If there is nobody overseas, nobody can get killed overseas.
Well it is certainly an… original approach, you got to give him that.
Middle East on the Brink? WIN!
North Korea on the Brink? WIN!
The EU thinking the US has lost it’s mind? WIN!
Russia running the White House? WIN!
etc., etc., etc…
