Discussion: Three Poll Workers Admit To Tallying Votes Early In NC 9th District Race

So, we talking fines in the hundreds or in the thousands?

As usual…the only provable election fraud we ever find is by Repubs.

Kobach was right! There IS rampant voter fraud! I guess he just forgot to mention that it’s all within the Republican party.

You beat me to it. And yes, exactly.

How about just disqualifying Harris and declaring the Democrat the winner?

North Carolina says, we’re not going to let South Carolina beat us to the bottom!

“North Carolina’s State Board of Elections heard the testimony as part of a hearing that could result in a new election being called for the 9th District, or the Republican candidate declared the winner.”

Which is to say, whether a Republican will be appointed to the seat or a late sham of an election will result in a Republican winning the seat because Dem turnout won’t be anywhere near what it was in November 2018 and the people in charge of sending notice, etc., will have many convenient “oopsy” moments.

Dude cheated. He should forfeit and the Dem candidate should be certified the winner. PERIOD.

So there’s no mention of ballots collected and thrown away?
If memory serves me correctly there was something about the door from somewhere into where they keep the election materials. With this amount of monkey business going on why not collect ballots that were sealed or unsealed, check that the ballot was filled out for the Dem and then either throw it away or insert an new ballot favoring the Rs? It’s been stated that some signatures don’t match. So it seems to me McCrea Dowless is smart enough to figure this out and to make the outcome close but reflect the winner who paid him.

If that doesn’t happen, McCready’s lawyers said state officials should send their findings to the Democrat-dominated U.S. House and let it decide whether Harris should be seated — arguing that the U.S. Constitution gives the House authority over the elections and qualifications of its members.

Yes, that’s just an argument, a thing Some People Say. Opinions vary on whether the words of Article I, Section 5, Clause 1, providing “Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members” actually mean that each house of Congress is entitled to be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members. Whichever side is right, one thing for certain is that this controversy isn’t going away anytime soon.

That’s why he knew it existed but he didn’t expect that it would be found out by others.
The best thing about the GOP is when they cheat they are so incompetent at it.

the state board will have to decide whether ballot fraud was unfortunate but tolerable

Tolerable ballot fraud? I guess I should’ve seen that coming.

The poll workers, Agnes Willis and Coy Mitchell Edwards, said that while they and others could see who had the early lead in Bladen County sheriff’s race, they didn’t tell anyone.

How nice, thank you SO much for not telling anyone ahead of voting day. And the GOP candidate who hired a guy who paid local people like Britt $125 for every 50 mail-in ballots they collected in Bladen and Robeson counties…THAT candidate might still be awarded the Congressional seat?

Really?

This election tampering really ticks me off. In Va., former Rep. Scott Taylor’s staff was accused of forging signatures to get a third party candidate on the ballot to split the vote. Well, thankfully, Taylor lost and Elaine Luria now has his seat. But, here’s the thing I can’t find anything about bringing charges against him, one report said there was no hurry since he lost. Big deal, they still need to find out if he was guilty of paying the staff to do this.
Why would NC redo an election where the Rethugs were doing dirty tricks, just appoint the Dem, it’s a no brainer?

This will end with a new election being called - either by the local board or the US House. There is no chance, unfortunately, that it ends with the Dem getting certified as the winner on this record. I think that the Dem candidate is smart to say that they send it to the US House, where they will immediately declare the seat vacant. That gives him a chance at a redo ASAP.

“After the hearing ends, the state board will have to decide whether ballot fraud was unfortunate but tolerable…”

…

“Strach testified Monday that a political operative hired by Republican Mark Harris led
“a coordinated, unlawful and substantially resourced absentee ballot
scheme” in last year’s general election in rural Bladen and Robeson
counties…”

Aren’t those two things mutually exclusive?

Isn’t there a democrat around who happened to walk by?

So…people need to wait two hours at the DMV to get a photo ID if they don’t drive or have a gun permit, but it’s totally cool to have mail-in ballots that show who you voted for and can be altered or trashed by whomever.

It’s almost as if…Republicans just want to inconvenience certain types of voters while ignoring real voter fraud completely because they know they need fraud if they have any hope of winning. Who knew?!
