If I had behaved the way trump did in that clip my father would have slapped me upside of the head without regard to who was watching. His behavior is completely deliberate and thought out on the fly. He has zero respect for his fellow heads of state. And it was shown by his verbal scolding concerning the NATO funding and his criticism isn’t even based on any actual fact, just emotion and supposition from whatever he was fed by Bannon. The primary problem is not the illegalities, though there are many. It is that the crass vulgarian now at the head of the executive branch of our government is completely Amoral. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t frequently immoral, but significantly more importantly he doesn’t care about, or even seem to know the difference between, legal and illegal or right and wrong.
I’m curious if the hotel space was rented for this event before or after the election? If it was organized after the election, then there really can’t be any question why it was chosen as the venue.
Dunno, but they would have had to plan this more than 7/8 months ago for it to be a coincidence. I think that’s a stretch, but this story is so bizarre, it’s entirely possible.
Yep… I was brought up to be cultured and respectful of others. My folks made sure of it. Trump’s family was quite the opposite and taught him others were inferior no matter who they were. And he’s taught himself that women are baubles to be shown off as “conquests” which irritates the shit out of me. He has no desire to actually be a father. His kids must find nurturing elsewhere. There’s no way to repair him in time for him to be an actual functioning Head of State on his own. The only way is competent adult supervision. It’s the only way we can hope to survive him.
I would agree that our current POTUS displays many actions and words which prove your “Amoral” description.
However, his voters, some who may be amoral as well is largely made of people that for the better part of my life claimed the moral highground in their voting because they believe that they are the party of the oppressed American christian voices, that they are the stander-bearers of what the kind of proper American life you are supposed to live. His voters and his own words use this language, such as whe the talk about “free-loaders” or people who are a drain on our system, you can almost here the religious words “You can give a man a fish and feed him for a day or you can teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for his life”. (of course if climate change kills all the fish, then teaching him would not really solve the problem, but of course that is a discussion for another day.)
In my eyes, based on the methodist teaching I was raised with here in the south, you cannot support this POTUS or any of his staff because they are dishonest brokers. Seriously, what has Trump or his team taught the American people with their leadership? That all bad press is a lie? Certainly that is not true, Cleveland beat the Celts last night and no one is questioning that reporting. I watched the local news last night and they reported facts about the goings on in my neighborhood, so what Press is really liberal? The press that is political? Well of course it is, that is why it is called the Politics section. But the rest of the media is not liberal. Are our local news liberal? No. Is the real estate section liberal? No. Is the business section liberal? Well it has got both as economics has conservative policies and liberal policies which have little to do with politics. Are movies liberal? Well that is a weird question, because I don’t really watch Alien and think what does a dem think or what does a GOP think. Are celebrities liberal? Sure, some are, but they are artists, so is that really a surprise. I mean that would be like complaining that Priest and Preachers are conservative, well no shit sherlock. The GOP and certainly this administration, does what every GOP campaign has done since I was a kid, get their voters to believe in straw-men that don’t exist. They are good ad advertising, not good at policy and their records supports my statement.
