We must realize that in this day and age, nobody really cares about what happens between mutually consenting adults. Of course, these people should not be silenced and should come forward with what they know. And, of course, character matters. But Trump’s supporters, and most Americans, just don’t care. We are saturated with this stuff, from Clinton foward. It’s more important to stick to helping people understand the long-term problems that Trump is creating for the country, and which will continue long after he leaves office. Many Trump supporters I’ve spoken to figure, what the heck, if things are worse after his term, put someone else in. But that argument doesn’t cut it, with the invasion of Iraq as an example of long-term problems caused by bone-headed errors by a President.

euglena, you raise a good point, why is Trump fighting these disclosures as everyone by now knows who and what he is. Or as Trump himself put it, he could shoot somebody in broad daylight on a crowded street and his supporters would not care or perhaps even love him more for doing it.
There are two possible reasons. One is that his prenuptial agreement could be voided either under mandatory or enabling provisions for many reasons if his behavior becomes public. My theory is these women have dick pictures that if made public, I would personally donate $5,000 grand to put on a billboard on Liberty University campus staring at the President’s office with the caption " These are your values Mr. Falwell.

And we can be certain that out there somewhere is a woman who had an abortion paid for by Drumpf so he wouldn’t owe child support and wouldn’t have to tell one of his “then wives”. You know that woman is out there, staying quiet but really wanting to tell the world about how Drumpf was cheating on his wife; how he paid for the abortion and how he threatened to harm her if she ever went public. Please, whoever, wherever you are, for the sake of the world, come forward and tell your story.

My theory is that you’re both right, that there’s a whole lot worse out there. Could be dick pics, an abortion, there could even be a child, etc. Who knows?! His combination of toxic masculinity, rage, reckless stupidity, narcissism, misogyny, inherited wealth, and fame is the perfect recipe for the very worst of human behavior. I have no doubt that his fear over these NDAs is born of concern that others will follow. If these get overturned I expect a flood of increasingly emboldened victims and others to come forward.

Given his history of intolerance and discrimination, the ultimate irony would be if it turned out he had fathered a black baby (unlike the Bush team’s lies about McCain).
