It feels like the story is moving rapidly, I just hope we can keep up the pressure. They are fighting back in the dirtiest way possible, by waging actual war. They will not give up easily.
When and where are the next hearings? Flynn? Manafort? Stone? No … Steele.

At what point does the confidential information surrounding 45 and his mob come to the light of day? Criminal indictments? Can FBI do this without DOJ?

I will 3rd the praise for this report. Excellent piece. This report highlights the fact that what was not said, or what could not be revealed, is far more important than what was revealed. The DOJ is still investigating. No word on how wide that investigation goes, but i got the impression that djt was personally within the scope of the overall investigation. Just my take on that. I also noticed that Yates on at least one occasion made certain to reveal her utmost confidence in the professional abilities of the career investigators within the DOJ. This might have been a subtle (?) hint that much of what she was testifying about was still ongoing, with bigger revelations to come. This show is far from over.
Excellent reporting. I watched the hearing and would add some other unasked questions:
(1) Although the WH claims that Flynn lied to Pence, that is a mere assertion. Is there evidence to support that assertion? If not, a reasonable conclusion would be that he didn’t and that Pence, at the very least, had knowledge.
(2) Was Flynn acting on behalf of Trump, himself? Absent evidence to the contrary, the reasonable judgment is that he was and that he was follwing his chain of command. That would explain why Flynn apparently had no concern that US intelligence would monitor his calls, because the President could and assuredly would immunize Flynn from any potential blowback from the intelligence agencies.
(3) If (2) above is correct, the most critical question is why Trump was so insistent on changing the strategic playing field to Putin/Russia’s advantage? It’s not as if Trump has been a deep foreign policy analyst over the decades and concluded that the US strategic position would be enhanced by destroying the Western Alliance in favor of an entente with Putin’s Russia. While there has been some investigation of Trump’s business ties to Russia, I think those investigations are missing the crux of the matter, which is that Trump is - and has been - in deep financial hock to - as my mother would have said - the “Moscow Boyz”. When you owe a lot of money to the “Boyz” in Moscow or New York, they expect to be paid back with interest. Evidence isn’t going to be found in Trump’s tax returns. It will come from someone down the chain deciding to turn.

I get the sense that what makes this trumprussia knot so difficult to untangle is that its participants barely knew what they were doing, what lines they were crossing, or what laws they were breaking. I suspect eventual indictments will be for a wide variety of offenses rather than a grand conspiracy.
Is a FISA warrant required to obtain djt’s tax returns? It seems so obvious that so many questions surrounding this investigation could be answered by looking at those returns. They are material to the overall investigation. Maybe they have been looked at, and no one can say anything because that would reveal classified information into the ongoing investigation. Still, i’m sure the NYT would love a convenient leak.
Also, just who is auditing those tax returns? Is it the IRS? If it is, why have they been so silent about an ETA for completion? It is also very obvious that djt dearly wants to keep those tax returns secret. It’s almost as if his life depends on it.
One more question remains unanswered- who will Flynn throw under the bus ,if the heat gets turned up ? Both Sessions and Kushner had meetings with Russian officials that they did not divulge until the press revealed that they had done so. Trump’s sons tweedle dee and tweedle dum both have claimed the Trump business has been held upright by Russian rubles. Manafort and Page and Stone all have, from various reports, some dirty laundry. What does Flynn know and who will he take down with him to save his pathetic ass ?

Flynn did offer to testify if the Senate grants him immunity. I say fine. Grant him partial immunity in exchange for a minimum of three guilty parties inside the White House. Full immunity of he brings down Trumpp.
