Discussion: Theresa May's Brexit Deal Rejected By UK Parliament

Step 1 to undoing the damage that Putin did to the West in 2016. Hopefully they can end up blocking Brexit entirely.

Then we just have the other issue that he did…

Well I have to thank the Brits, for giving us something that is more buggered up than Individual 1.

Will be an interesting three upcoming days…

and P.S. we can blame David Cameron for everything bad that has happened in the last two years. Obama laid down his “red-line” and Cameron promptly went to the house of commons to get authorization to join Obama in Strikes on Syria. He buggered that up, and lost the vote, and Obama got cold feet, let Assad of the hook. As a result millions of Syrians upped and left to Europe. Meanwhile Cameron to try to solve the EU divisions in the conservative party proposed a referrendum, and rather than actually fighting the lies put out in support of Brexit, let it go, hoping could then paper over the cracks in the Conservative party after a Brexit Win. Yet migration (a crisis he had set off by his bumbling) was the issue (fear of arab migration) that caused the Brits to take a flyer on “Brexit”, helped along by the Russians.

And the success in manipulation of Brexit was the templet used by the Russians, and gave them comfort to help Trump. And of course, Trump used BREXIT with his supporters for the type of acts he would take.

I’m seeing a striking similarity between pro-Brexiters who think they can get a better deal from the EU and a certain someone who thinks he can get a wall if he just holds out long enough. Also between those Brits who think a “no-deal” Brexit won’t be that bad (yes, they exist) and the contingent of Americans who don’t think this government shutdown is going to affect them.

Head, meet stone wall.

“British lawmakers on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected Prime Minister Theresa May’s divorce deal with the European Union, plunging the Brexit process into chaos.”

Buh bye.

Maybe your successor will let the people vote again – but this time without Russia engineering the result.

I suspect a snap election, when it becomes clear that the Tories can’t agree on a successor to May.

Brexit, by itself, was a big win for Putin. Brexit without an exit agreement will just make his win larger.

Oddly, that is not what I call him.

:heavy_plus_sign: : the Tories best hope is a Holyrood legislator.

:heavy_minus_sign: : that legislator is enjoying motherhood.

I have been watching this with great interest, having family in Ireland. It seems that the British who voted for Brexit, and their leaders have steered their ship of state with no regard to the troubles in Northern Ireland which membership in the E.U, and the Good Friday accord all helped to ease.

Really, all I have are unanswered questions which go necessarily unanswered. What hidden interests were pushing for Brexit? Did/do they believe that Britain will be at the forefront of some brave new world of capitalist winning, or is it truly just a nostalgia trip for those who still imagine that the sun never sets on the British Empire?

How is May remaining in her job, and handling this thankless task? Why hasn’t she thrown in the towel? Is she truly as principled as she claims herself to be, working for “the will of the British people” who voted for something that her own party was strongly against. What new alliances are imagined in relation to this breaking away from Europe, or is it all part of some oligarchs’ plans to create their own post EU empire?

Naw. She’ll likely survive the vote of no confidence-- no apparent successor. Corbyn isn’t going to win, so no alternative.

But what may happen is that the referendum option bubbles up and gets forced through.

Not having to comply with EU tax avoidance rules which come into effect later this year.

Though influenced, that deal is on us.

I mostly agree with you, but I’m not sure how the US bombing Assad would have prevented mass migration. There were going to be refugees in Syria no matter what Obama did.

Putin only took advantage of Cameron’s error, funneling funding to the Leave campaign as a great opportunity to sow discord.

Brexit was never supposed to happen. Cameron decided to offer the referendum because he was sure it would be roundly defeated and help him politically.

On an unrelated note, ACB has been on a tear of late…

Picked up one of the original “Blessed 8” producers today for 132MM in an all stock deal further cementing it as the Berkshire Hathaway of bud…

@maximus

And here’s another fine mess you’ve gotten us into, Donnie!
