Discussion: There's Nothing Moderate About Jeb Bush's Position On Gay Marriage

Discussion for article #231641

Eh, I think this article is entirely too pessimistic. We don’t know that Jeb can even win the primary. I understand that a lot of folks believe he can easily walk on with the backing of the GOP money men. Maybe, but then this time around the crazy caucus and the “libertarian” caucus could join forces to root out the establishment types. Also, it sounds to me like their will be a few more so-called moderates than in 2012. If that’s the case, they could wind up splitting the “moderate” vote and basically cancel each other out. I also think the GOP base voters will be far more emboldened to vote for a crazy person than ever before. They’ll be, as they are now, utterly convinced that Obama’s been the worst president in history despite almost every metric to the contrary, and they’ll convince themselves that any Republican they nominate is a shoo in the way Obama was for the Democrats in 2008. If that is the case, if GOP voters think they can nominate anyone and win, it’s highly unlikely Jeb Bush will be their first or second choice.
