Long waits is correct. Took 90 days just to get appointment when I needed brain surgery. Then after care was a gold mine for one of the specialists, for less than 5 minutes charged 395. Did that for 3 visits. I had same surgery 18 years before and never needed to see this specialty once I left the hospital. Gold mine…
Another issue some of the doctors will not bill the VA but insist on billing Medicare. That means money out of my pocket to cover the difference in charges. Then when I try to get corrected they totally ignore my letters. VA does not have process in place to force corrections.

I have a friend that been waiting about a week to get into Duke from the VA in Durham to have a new pacemaker installed. We really need to get medicare for all asap.
This is such an old story and predictable result. You add profit(corporate greed), another level of administration (usually incompetent) it costs more for poorer results. Happens every single time. It is done to pay back wealthy supporters. My state is notorious for the same game plan only in foster care and HHS, disgusting profiting off of vulnerable kids.
