I wonder how Sheldon Adelson is taking this.

Didn’t think about that side, could make for a hell of a 1-2 punch.

Shows the weakness inherent in an ossified monolithic system.

Better check your snark meter. I believe Nova was predicting what the headline will be on Fox News.

I’d be willing to bet: badly. You can bet AIPAC is spitting bullets. The Kochs may be trying to sort it out but still think they’ll prevail in the end.

chuckle* fools…

As long as this clown is willing to kiss Likud’s ass, Adelson is happy.

The Tea Party including Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Mike Lee did nothing to help Prof. David Brat. Neither did the Koch kleptocrat octopuses. David Brat ran a disciplined focused campaign against a goliath and won on his own merit. This is his day and he deserves all the credit.

Let us not forget that Erick Cantor has been one of the most sleazy, corrupt, inept and incompetent Majority Leaders. The people who know him best – members of his inner circle and the Republicans in his own district – do not trust him and have no respect for him or the thugs who run his political machine. Erick Cantor has destroyed jobs in his district, presided over the most unproductive Congresses in American history and shut down the government at the behest of his corporate handlers

ā€œWorking with him to reform Washington, D.C.ā€
Do they realize that Mr. Brat’s first job, as a Freshman, is to learn, off the top, how to negotiate the ins and outs of the work of Congress?
If Matt Kibbe or any of Mr. Brat’s other supporters expects him to walk in and have any genuine impact on how the other 434 members work, I can guarantee he’ll be disappointed. There is no question that Mr. Brat’s voice will be lent to the chorus of other TP members. But his probable election is the closest that he will come to Congressional (i.e., Washington) reform.

But it’s not really from in their own house, unless you consider the Trojan Horse was a product of Trojan artisans. The TP candidates are ultimately funded by non-Republican, radical libertarians, like the Kochs, who wish to destroy the federal government.

But look at Ted Cruz. Would you say he has had impact on the other members of congress right off the bat?

Do we have any data on what independent spending looked like in the Brat/ Cantor race? He denies Koch involvement but given the way independent expenditure is allowed to hide itself it’s not clear he has any basis for that claim.

Given the lack of disclosure on the part of independent efforts there is no way to now whether or not the Kochs were backing him.

However Cruz could distinguish himself quickly and forcefully because he’s a Senator. And, there are fewer Senators than there are House members. And, he’s basically a sociopath. Brat can’t avail himself of those opportunities.
