The Dems should do a massive marketing campaign aimed at GOPers to educate them about the Dem party and what it stands for. A typical GOP voterās perception of a Dem and an actual Dem are not the same - the former is a caricature of the latter.

Donāt get me started on the colossal communications/messaging ineptitude of the Democratic Party. Itās a source of unending irritation to meātheyāve got a potentially great message to tell the country, but so help me God the average Democratic pol and party functionary wouldnāt have a fucking clue how to market hillbilly heroin to oxycontin junkies in Harlan County.
The fact that the entire country is completely clueless about the economic and budgetary disaster in Kansas is just one example of this feckless incompetence at the basics of communication.

You want to eliminate this ever-shifting kind of nonsense? Then establish federal election laws for how primaries are run. Otherwise, it doesnāt matter as delegates arenāt binding, except when they are.
A more direct democracy can only be achieved with more rules. And, preemptively, this has nothing to do with āfree speechā or āfreedom of assembly.ā In fact, regularized rules for primaries would increase both.
